Finished āSoberā. I feel things.
First of all I didnāt even focus on the characters this time. I mean, for me it was a sad story between two people who have become such strangers that they donāt even know who theyāre talking to, what theyāre doing or how much all that affects one another.
I felt sad, first and foremost. Because I read a story about two people who let their passions estrange them. Two people too caught up in their respective needs that they forgot they are a couple.
I read a story about two people who both craved so hard that they were willing to hurt one another, become assholes to one another, disappoint one another just to have their needs satisfied and through that satisfaction show how much what they had was lost.
This has to be one of the few times that my focus wasnāt on your smut. The smut in this story, to me, was a desperate attempt, a wake up call if you wish from one character to the other. A scream to be noticed, an effort to be seen.
It was sad because they had both given up so much that their only way to feel anything was to hurt each other, to have everything rubbed into their faces so they could eventually snap out of their ācommaā.
So yeah. This wasnāt a hot, sexy story for me. And Iām sure you didnāt intend it to be. This was a story about loss, about giving up, about evading the truth. Iām glad that thereās a little ray of hope in the end but I think that in situations like these, redemption and healing are a bit difficult to find. But I have faith.
You know my asks are usually huge and once again I apologize for that. But I enjoyed your story immensely regardless of the sadness it conveyed through my screen.
Zee, you beautiful, eloquent poetic soul.
You already know how I feel about this ask. I genuinely got emotional. The fact you put everything so perfectly. So much better than I, writer of said fic, could put it. Thank you. I am so utterly proud that you got all of that from my little story.
I love you, thank you for this.
