Silver Airways Has Landmark Year in 2013

After earning a bachelor's degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Krishna Ajvalia has spent more than a decade working in the aviation industry. Formerly an airline captain with Gulfstream International Airlines, Krishna Ajvalia currently works as an airline captain with Silver Airways. Founded in 2011 and based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Silver Airways features a fleet of 32 aircraft consisting of Saab340B and Beechcraft 1900D. During its two years of operations, Silver Airways has expanded significantly and currently makes nearly 200 daily scheduled flights to and from gateways in more than 10 states and the Bahamas. In 2013, Silver Airways added passenger service to Atlanta, Orlando, Key West, and Cleveland; introduced nonstop service to the Bahamas and three Florida cities; and upgraded its reservations system. Throughout the year, Silver Airways also received important recognition from the industry and passengers. February saw it winning Air Transport World's Regional Airline of the Year award, which made it the first American airline to win the title in five years. In November, Silver Airways placed on Condé Nast Traveler's 26th Annual Readers' Choice Awards list of Top 10 Best US Airlines.
