Hey what's ur favourite beetle?

Megasoma rex! I also enjoy M. actaeon and M. mars as similar species.

In general I am partial to Dynastinae, rhinoceros beetles. I love big and chunky beetles with impressive horns. Others in the Megasoma genus often have setae (microscopic hairs) covering their bodies, which gives them a sort of fuzzy or flocked appearance.

I have only owned D. tityus out of all Dynastinae, which is native to my area. They also have charming bright orange hairs on the underside of their bodies and horn (in males).

Added plants to my blue death feigning beetle vivarium :]

I think it looks super cool now! For the air plants I plan to take them out to water them so I don’t bring the humidity up too much, so I’ll see how they do!
