I have several decades of extremely basic sewing and embroidery experience, but am just this very second getting into a tiny smattering of EPP and quilting, and I have a couple of questions...
I know the tape/ribbon edging is important for wear and tear and is chosen at least partially based on these properties, in addition to texture and touchability and stretch (or lack).
a) Is bias binding tape really just narrow bands of "twill" / "herringbone" weaving, or are these, like, colloquial names for some other industrial process?
b) does anyone have a roll of 1" they can thread count for sett or ends per inch real quick?
c) do we think that for felt-backed hand-pieced-cotton coasters I could just use a plainweave tape? like, any flexible cotton inkle band from stash or woven custom for the project in future? (the lettered band possibilities are like 🤔🤔🤔)

I am talking about this stuff:

not the fold your fabric in quarters longways stuff. 😊
