There is that HBO show Girls is alright. Being Human, Game of Thrones.
Hmm, Girls looks pretty good, thank you! Tried Being Human, got through two episodes, stopped watching. Waiting for season 3 of GoT <3

You could try Parks & Rec again, but skip the first season (because it changes form). Also Shameless US, How I Met Your Mother, Homeland?
It does? Hmmmm. I might try it again then! Also: watching, stopped watching (and it makes me all sad because it used to be SO GOOD ahhh), and waiting for season 3 <3

I live in Southern California. We never get snow and school is only canceled if there is forest fire which is rarely.

It’s mostly because American schools rely on buses, because that’s how so many kids get to school. If the buses can’t drive through the snow, we don’t have school.
I do not envy you the forest fires, i really do not.
Oh well, most kids here rely on the public transport too, but if the buses don't work, you just have to find another way to get to school, because they will not cancel it, no. One of my classmates was once two hours late because her bus just didn't show and she was from a nearby village that only got one bus an hour...
OH the only time my classes ever got cancelled was when my school got flooded because of a pipe bursting - IN THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY. so the school was flooded and the water OF COURSE froze so we got TWO whole days off yay
I'm currently worldbuilding for an original fic and OH MY GOD, THANK YOU, YES. If you need someone to ramble at about various treaties and battles and fake historical figures and whatnot, I'm all ears (eyes). Also, I once read that 20% of creation in writing is what's on the page and the other 80% is all the minutiae in your head that no one will ever see, but you get no emotion or dimensions from the 20% if you don't have the other 80%.
SO. MUCH. WORLD BUILDING. I have backstories for my goddamn backstories, I swear to god. Though I will admit, I've put a lot of work into my original characters (Mara's was the shortest, but I enjoyed her background). I personally enjoy Alex's the most, but no one will ever know hers. ONLY ME. And sometimes I look at her and all her dimensions and all her decisions and her motivations and realize that all anyone will see her as is the one that tried to kill Stiles, that tried to destroy the back. That she came to Beacon Hills for what looked like no reason and died an incredibly painful death, lost and confused and, in the end, alone.
It's the same for my other villains. You'll meet them soon. They're stories are quite painful, especially Allison's aunt. Just. AND I CAN'T SHARE THIS BECAUSE STILES WOULDN'T BE PRIVY TO IT. It sometimes hurts my brain.
But I find you can't really write a character without really getting to know their inner most thoughts, their past and present and what they did to get to where they are. You know all this information and it should, in some way, show through the character. It's a fickle balance.
So, I agree with you completely. Without that extensive history, there wouldn't be a story. I wouldn't be able to receive the reactions that I really want if I didn't have a background to work off of. I wouldn't be able to paint the pictures I see. I wouldn't be able to have actual continuum. It's important.
vomit / no way / don’t ship / ok / ship it / fucking cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / flawless / ship forever / i will ship them in hell
I added one because, well, I ship Sterek more in fic than I do on-show, and they are in no way my OTP in Teen Wolf fandom (considering that I don't actually, you know, have an OTP in TW). Also, the terms "fucking cute," "adorable," "perfect," and "flawless" should, uh, not be applied to Sterek.

I know that when I studied it in political philosophy I was high on painkillers from having my impacted wisdom teeth removed. It was an outstanding way to study Karl Marx.

There’s a graphic novel version. (No, really.)
begoodenoughforme replied to your post: Group homework project!
It’s called “The Red Book” but it isn’t usually the color red.
My followers are geniuses. A+ to all of you, but a special gold star to mskaylee for alerting me of the existence of something that is already on its way here - thanks mskaylee + Amazon! :D :D :D
(This man, y'all. I just. If I have to pick between the dead white guys I am a Weberian kind of girl, myself, and mostly I can only read Marx and sigh because he's so earnest and true believery and stuff. Oops, I cyniced all over the sociological canon.)
