Back to school in the 90′s
I’m just curious about what everyone’s favorite part about going back to school was in the 90′s. for me it was probably going back to school shopping. I liked to buy Lisa Frank folders and trapper keepers, as well as Pencil cases and Backstreet Boys folders. There’s something very exciting about the back to school shopping aspect of school. Looking back on it i wish had enjoyed my school experiences more than i did. I didn’t appreciate school life the way that i should have. With the way the world is today i honestly can look back and appreciate my school years and look back on them with fondness. Please share your experiences with me because i would love to hear what you guys have to say.
Making Friends (And Keeping Them)
Hello tumblr! I missed you! Neither Ben nor I have been so good at posting regularly--In Response has been neglected. But it's my final semester at college and I am ready to blog my way through it. Weekly blog posts by Moriah are back. (If you think two blog posts a week are better than one write to us and let Ben know that you want to see his blog posts on Fridays again.)
So, in the last week I've met up with two old friends. Old being a relative term, I guess, since I'm only (almost) 22. But they're friends that I met in high school and I really don't have many of those anymore. I didn't really get along with anyone in my high school--I didn't really have any friends from there. So the friends that I did have in high school came mainly from Jewish programs that I did, but this meant that they were all spread out. Some all across the New York tri-state area, some all across the country and some even all across the world. I didn't really have many friends who lived close to me and so I didn't really have any friends that I hung out with regularly. Friday and Saturday nights were almost always spent at home, with family. It made me close with my family, but it meant that I didn't really understand the concept of having friends and hanging out with them.
When I got to college, I was so lucky to find a group of friends that I was (and am) so close with. We ate dinner together, we went out together, we did homework together. It was exactly what I was looking for. But I got so absorbed into college, that I forgot that the friendships I did have from before I began school required maintenance, too.
It was really nice to get to catch up with two friends I haven't seen much of recently. It's always a pleasure to remember why you were such good friends with them in the first place. I'll remember, now, to try and do better.
Hope everyones Saturday night is going well! I don't mind sitting in and blogging idk about you!
I'm actually so grateful that you are in my life. Every day I count my blessings because of you. Thank you for being here.
today is a good day
And I thought I should document more of these good days so here goes. My midterm got postponed for another 2 weeks and I got a head start making 100+ notecards so I have plenty of time to finish and study. I finished researching for my group presentation for censorship and am almost done with writing my ONE page about it. I now have more time to write/edit/rework/finish my paper on Womanhouse and the presentation for it this weekend. And to top it all off, B and I made brownies, which I've been craving, tonight. Life is good. I hope I always remember that.
