has anyone ever done a production of Bluebeard's Castle where it's like a creepy version of some TV game show???
my thoughts on Bluebeard's Castle in five words:
1. what

3. fuck

5. THAT
this is a strange and somewhat sinister piece, to a non-musician ear it sounds very similar to Bartók's Piano Concert No. 2 Movement II but they are very different in the core
in the Central Park in Dark's strings choral, Ives uses bitonal chords built by superposed thirds, whereas Bartók in his Piano Concerto No. 2 II movement uses superposed fifths. the thirds sound like a poor man's fifths if you ask me... they have an inferior tonal quality

三人のヴァイオリニスト
11月下旬から12月上旬にかけての三週間ほどのあいだに、三つのヴァイオリン・リサイタルを聴いた。機会があれば実演を聴きたいと思っている三人の女性のヴァイオリニストの演奏会が、出かけられる範囲で続いたためである。それにしても、これほど立て続けにヴァイオリンの独奏に向き合ったことはなかった。それによって、この楽器の現代における可能性を肌で感じることができた。いずれの演奏会でもヴァイオリニストの個性が発揮されるとともに、取り上げられた作品の魅力が引き出されていた。 最初に聴いたのはヴィクトリア・ムローヴァ。11月22日に神奈川県立音楽堂で開催された彼女のリサイタルに出かけることができた。祝日だった翌日の新国立劇場でのムソルグスキーのオペラ《ボリス・ゴドゥノフ》の公演──その批評をMercure des Arts Vol.…
