Arturo Márquez's Danzón no. 2

Something more contemporary today - this was premiered in 1994. It is one of the most frequently performed Mexican contemporary classical orchestral pieces, and it gained great popularity worldwide when the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra played it in 2007 under the wonderful Gustavo Dudamel.

Unfortunately, my brother has somewhat ruined this piece for me, as, having played it with NCO, now never stops singing it. However, it remains one of my favourite contemporary pieces nevertheless.
