I’ve decided I don’t like the stories where Danny has to convince Batman and birds that he is, in fact, a ghost, and that his town is overrun with them. Why? Because they’re the World’s Greatest Detectives.

“Oh, but they just don’t believe in ghosts” NO. Justice League Dark is literally made to deal with the supernatural, and as Batman is one of the founders of the JL, he would know about JLD and what they do, so he would know that ghosts and stuff are real.

“Well maybe he just doesn’t believe Danny” Yeah, okay, sure, the glowing floating kid who is as cold as ice and just came through your wall is juuuust a meta. Even then, having a meta as strong as Danny barge in and beg for help warrants an investigation at least. By that point, ignoring it is a choice, and you should probably make Batman an antagonist instead.

“The fact that Danny glows like the Lazarus pit” Stop. Danny glows like a pit that brings people back from the dead? Holy shit! It’s almost like they’re connected! Like Danny radiates Undeath, just like the pits do. And there are more ghosts like Danny at his town? Batman should probably look at that.

“Well Danny is nothing like Deadman, one of the only other ghosts Batman has probably ever seen! Of course he’d be skeptical!” This. This is the one valid reason imo. Still, even if he doesn’t believe Danny is a ghost, this goes back to the fact that he should look into Danny’s town.

Just. A lot of stories don’t talk about why the Batfam don’t believe him. Despite the fact that Jason is right there. And it drives me a little bit crazy. Or maybe it’s just the fact that it’s late and I’m tired.

Btw girlies, all the folks who are like “if he wanted to, he would” are right*. A man who is into you and invested in you and actually cares about you will absolutely do The Most just to be with you. You will not have to beg him for love and attention and effort.
