15!
15. recommend and review a book. OOOH ok I’m gonna talk about The Latinist by Mark Prins because I have literally only found one (1) other person who has read this book and I love it SO much, so here is my desperate attempt to convince someone else to read it haha. Excuse the chaos that is about to follow: The Latinist focuses on the relationship (both academic and personal) between Tessa, an American PhD candidate at Oxford, and Chris, her Classics mentor. It’s also a literary thriller and a retelling of the story of Daphne and Apollo. I'm not usually a huge fan of myth retellings, but this book does it really well. The poetic elements are well threaded through the entire story and culminate is a really satisfying way. Tessa and Chris are both compelling, complex characters and the dynamic between them is totally engrossing. There are also some really memorable side characters, and the locations felt so real to me as I was reading. The classics plot line is very well executed, as are the interpersonal developments. The prose is wonderful, and very funny at parts, and the pacing is impressively moderated. If you like complicated flawed characters, messy relationships, Latin, slightly pathetic men, and ambitious women, read this book! A really excellent debut novel, I am looking forward to what the author writes next.
my tears ricochet or ivy??

Set the Dark on Fire
you've done nothing at all (to make me love you less)
THANK YOU FOR THE RECS!!!!! <333333
The first one I read the summary and I loved the idea!! Gonna read that.
And I’ll be honest, I didn’t even read the summary of yours, but as soon as I watch episode 2, I’ll check it out for sure.
I don’t have an otp on this show. unless you count clarke/happiness a ship. so i am willing to read just about anything that treats clarke right.
Right now I’m very angry and feeling bitter towards bellamy, so i’ll need to warm up to him again. i always liked their relationship (till season 5), and how they trusted each other, even when they didn’t even like each other yet.
(but i also really liked clexa when there was a chance for them)
so yeah. i’m accepting all the recs, as long as they do well by clarke
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
top 3 movies??
aaahh, thank you, dana!
um the harry potter films are pretty much my fave films of all time but excluding them (for the purposes of getting three), i’d say:

nine/rose hunger games au!! 💘💘
“Hey, listen to me,” John said urgently, cupping Rose’s cheek. “I need you to open your eyes and listen to me, Rose.”
“I’m listening,” she rasped out.
“Open your eyes,” he urged.
After a long moment Rose complied, looking up at him blearily.
“Why did you save me? I would’ve died if you hadn’t found me and would’ve made things easier for you.”
“Never, Rose Tyler. Things would never be easier for me if you weren’t in the world,” he said, brushing his thumb across her skin, trying not to look down at the blood covering her side.
“But...”
“But nothing. I’m getting us both out of here, Rose. I don’t care what it takes.”
“Impossible,” she said, eyes slipping closed again.
“I eat impossible for breakfast, you know that.” He pressed the makeshift bandage he’d made tighter to her side. He needed to go find the herbs that would numb the pain and speed the healing but he didn’t want to leave her side.
“Bit different in here, though.”
“In here everything is impossible, so we have a better shot. I’m getting us out, Rose. And then we’re going to dismantle this whole damn system piece by piece so no one else has to go through this.”
“Cameras, John,” she warned, voice weak.
“None in here, I checked. They’ll send one to find us soon enough but we’re safe right now.”
“Then, I hope you burn this whole thing down,” Rose said.
“We will,” he swore.
She had already slipped back into unconsciousness. John made her as comfortable as he could, checked the knives he’d snagged at the beginning of the games and headed out to find herbs and food. They were going to get out of here but he needed Rose to recover first and neither of them could count on the fickle nature of sponsors to get them out of this mess.
