BellKnight Commissions are open! Please read ToS before commissioning!
Figured I would answer some FAQ that I know will appear ahead of time. If you can’t find your question, feel free to message me.
Why are they more expensive then previous Bell Knight Commissions?
-When I first started doing this I was testing the waters for two things: interest and time commitment. It quickly came to my attention that I was severely undercharging this commissions as I would spend 10+ hours on them. I wanted to charge an amount that is linked to time spent, however I didn’t want to leave anyone out by having only one option. I made three tiers that are in a range of prices.
Why are they more expensive than your other commissions?
-I have to come up with these ideas from scratch. I have nothing to base them off of and put in hours of research and drawing to get a physical character. Concept work is no joke! If you already HAVE a character with a reference sheet then I suggest my other commissions.
Why do I only get to give a certain number of keywords? Can I be more specific?
-The keywords is part of the commission. These commissions were designed to give me as much freedom as possible to ensure the Bell Knights keep to my vision of them instead of being shifted by too specific of details. The cheaper option has only 1 keyword because it is simply a sketch, while the more expensive option allows me more time, thus more keywords.
What do I get out of this?
- I will be sending you a full resolution of your piece along with a size for posting to social media. You can make prints of this piece for your wall, crop it for icons, use it as a background, and the character is all yours to get commissions of (so long as you credit me for the Bell Knight concept). It is yours to do what you want with so long as you are not using it for profit. You can also get a procreate time lapse video IF YOU REQUEST IT. Make sure you mention it when making the commission otherwise I might use another program thus no time lapse. I really only recommend that for the sketch and simple color options as I use Photoshop to paint.
Do you send over sketch approvals/any approvals?
-No, sorry. This whole commission is designed around me designing a character I feel fits best with your keywords! Please understand that going into this, changes WILL NOT BE MADE.
Thanks again to everyone who has found joy through my Bell Knights! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Not going to lie this one was a tough one to do! The keywords were just broad, but also specific enough that I actually had to do some research. I can’t tell you how many designs I went through before deciding on this one. I am not 100% satisfied with it and might come back to it at a later date for a retry.
I really wanted to make sure I captured the culture in this design. The clothing is an easy image search, but digging deeper I realized that bears are a large part of their lives. It was said that they had gods that would wear the skins of animals and take their forms, so I went with a God of hunting wearing his bear skin for when he transforms.
I really hope I didn’t botch this up and if I had any misinformation please do tell!

Aquatic Bell Knight! Challenged myself to come up with a design with only two words starting with “A” and “B”. I came up with “Aquatic baubels” and this guy is the result. I wanted to show you guys the steps I go through to get here!
Step 1: Silhouette poses. I use these to quickly get down poses and shapes. This really helps me work out motion and experiment with different forms.
Step 2: I choose a form I like. As you can see I went with the bottom right. I usually do a lot more work silhouettes than this, but I really wanted to do this one. The idea what big, poofy pants like a sail with different fishing knick knacks hanging off some rope. I wanted something attached to his bell hook and for some reason went with tentacles. This is be just playing with form and trying to get something somewhat pleasing.
Step 3: Outlining my sihouette. This is the stage where I get some more details and refining in.
Step 4: Detail detail detail. I use to avoid “Lines” like the plague thinking they made me less of an artist by having “lineart”. Now a days I don’t give a fuck and do lineart. As you can see I really refine my work here. EVERYTHING needs to be done in this step cause I hate trying to redo something completely in the coloring stage.
Step 5: Grayscale. These are all my tones, it gives me my contrast and keeps me from making everything looking too flat. I don’t have to worry about color theory or anything, just focus on lighting.
Step 6: Color! I use a mix of flat colors and gradient maps to mess around with color. Here is secret for you: Color terrifies me. I have to force myself to use brighter colors and to not leave everything a safe neutral.
And the final is me just painting out details, cleaning up messes and messing with levels/saturation/hue. Hope you enjoy!

I had SUCH a blast with this one. The moment I saw those three words I was like: Elegant destruction. I want a giant weaponized fountain pen with living ink. The butterfly aspect gave a sense of deadly beauty. Thank you for such a great opportunity!

A concept I have been working on. I love to explore how different beings interact with one another in my worlds. Here we have one of Shepard’s Lost One inhabiting an abandoned head of a Bell Knight. Bell Knights, while rarely, will transfer to a new body if they deem their old one too damaged to repair. There is also a case of a Bell Knight being devoured and their husk is left behind. Lost ones are souls of unwanted children that Shepard collects. They are able to possess organic matter and take on the form of “tree children”. They vary in size but are usually small. Here one has used the head as a base to house the soul. #worldbuilding #concept #fantasy #aprilduran #tbart #bellknight #lostsoul #drawing #pencil #conceptual #conceptartist #instaart #instaartist #bellverse #shepard #mythology https://www.instagram.com/p/BvPXkH8jj9I/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=l3oltba1y86l
