Different Obligations

Daisy took a deep breath as she steadie herself for what she was about to do. Some would perhaps say she should stay out of this and let the Aurors handle it, but Daisy was a professor now. She had an obligation to the people at this school, even if they weren’t the people typically here. Plus, Sybill was her friend, and if Sybill said they needed to get down to the Shrieking Shack, Daisy believed it.
She froze momentarily as she realized someone else was moving fast behind her, but Daisy told herself she was being silly. When she turned around, she felt a renewed moment of fear as she realized it was Bellatrix Lestrange, but Daisy pushed that down. Walden had insisted she had nothing to worry about from Bellatrix, so Daisy needed to remember it.
“Are you heading to the Shack?” she asked. For a moment, she wondered why, and Daisy couldn’t help acknowledging Walden’s obligations to an organization that wouldn’t let him out easily. Was that why Bellatrix was there? She seemed the right type. If that was the case, Daisy wasn’t sure she really wanted to go together. But could she afford to let Bellatrix out of her sight? Daisy didn’t like this uncertainty. It made her feel paranoid and like she couldn’t trust anyone.
But perhaps this was just her life now.
