I swear, Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange is just… unreal.
I’ve always been such a huge fan of her — she has this completely unique energy, this chaotic elegance that no one else can replicate. And as Bellatrix? She didn’t just play her… she became her.
Every movement, every look, that unhinged laugh — it was so precise, so intense, so perfectly unsettling. You could feel the madness and devotion in every second she was on screen. It was honestly flawless casting.
And yes — I know we never actually see her kill Nymphadora in the films.
But it’s still there. It’s still canon. And it’s still one of the reasons I hate Bellatrix so much.
Because Nymphadora deserved better. She deserved to live, to raise her son, to have that future.
And somehow, that just makes Helena’s performance even more powerful — because she made Bellatrix someone I can’t forgive… and still can’t look away from.
That contrast? That’s talent.
Loving the actress while hating the character this much just proves how incredible she really is.
Dark. Brilliant. Absolutely unforgettable.

It’s been 5 years and 2 months since I published the first chapter of Shades of Grey. At the time I did not know that it would amass over 450,000 words, four main parts, 13 one shots, a group of loyal readers and a forever imprint on my heart.
Since posting that first story, I feel like my abilities as a story writer have grown. I have published countless stories since and expanded my works to other fandoms.
After having gone back, I have decided to rewrite the original Shades of Grey. The bones are there and will remain but there’s so much I feel is missing from that story that I need to write for me and the friends I made along the way.
I won’t take the original story down. When this is done I’ll simply add it onto the series as my directors cut.
Hermione: Are you making any resolutions for next year?
Bellatrix: No. I will remain a menace. I may even be worse.
Andromeda, entering Bellatrix’s room without knock and sitting down on her bed: hey.
Bellatrix: *makes a noncommittal grunt as an acknowledgement*
Andy: what are you reading?
Bella: it’s a book of everything I hate.
Andy, grabbing the book: let me see. Oh. This is just a photo album of pictures of me.
Bella, smirking: what a coincidence.
Pickin’ up where we left off…

Hermione: Have you noticed I haven’t spoken to you for three days?
Bellatrix: Yes.
Hermione: Is there anything you’d like to say to me?
Bellatrix: Thank you.
