As the jet landed in Wakanda, Cara was nervous - she’d be a fool not to be. She was walking straight into an apocalyptic battle with the man she loved beside her. And that was if she was even allowed to stay, if the king even allowed her to stay - although Bucky seemed to think they would be all right on that front. And while, yes, these were the bigger things, the larger things she should be worried about... She couldn’t deny she was nervous about meeting Steve, too. He’d helped to rescue Bucky from HYDRA’s grip, he’d stood by and supported him no matter what. They were best friends. Family. Which meant she genuinely cared what he thought of her, that sentiment audibly expressed when she reached out a hand to shake his, “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Steve - I’ve heard a lot about you. I’m Cara.”

“Then it’s a good thing that I still have my powers,” Lizzie smiled as she glanced to Sebastian. Sure, being a heretic wasn’t in her plans but she couldn’t change that but she still had her powers she just didn’t need to siphon from anyone or anything else. But she wasn’t going to be angry about it, instead she was going to embrace it and do the best that she could with what she had at her disposal. “Trust me, please?”

     he’s forced to clear his throat suddenly, hand raising to cover his mouth. a polite cough. certainly not a laugh. never. he swallows the humour and does his best impression of a statue. neutral. this is meant to be a serious statement against how he’s running things, this is not meant to be funny. but it’s a good joke none-the-less. “ well, i’m sorry you feel that way. ” if he were anyone else he might consider making a comment about whether harry’s partners see it that way, but he’s ben and he won’t. that would be uncouth. “ i promise you that that is never the intention. ”
