Fotograaf Leo Erken (1957, Bemmel) combineert het scherpzinnige van de fotojournalist met oprechte belangstelling voor de mens. Van 1987 tot 2003 fotografeerde hij het leven in de uiteengevallen Sovjet Unie en Oost-Europa na de val van het IJzeren Gordijn. Die foto’s kwamen in een boek terecht: Street.
