It's so crazy the potential ben 10 has not just as a franchise but with the lore and cosmology it contains. They could EASILY do a gwen spin off and i would eat that shit up. Like they should tap into the fantasy aspect of the genre more (since the shows genre is science fantasy).

I can see them do a magical school for gwen (or have her be in college instead) or ben turning into aliens based on other cultures and/or mythologies (like chinese culture or norse mythology) and have the story match that theme along with having some (or all) of his aliens do magic.

They could even write a story where bens an orphan and hes friends with kevin at said orphanage or even focus more on ken 10. Hell, give us more stories focused on other planets and make each eps (or comic) last long. So many stories and AUs they can explore, yet some fans just want a continuation of classic still smh.

A little ben 10 universe lore.

Ive always imagined gwen and kevin to be same sides of the same coin.

Like kevin absorbs energy whereas gwen radiates it. And tracing back their ancestory , their home planets actually exist together, in a sort of magnetic sense where one really cant live without the other.

Okay so long ago, the celestaspiens had 2 twin girls, and they both inherited a power each. One got osomosian powers and one anodite.

During their birth, other beings kind in their vicinity got their left over powers , giving rise to the osmosian and anodite race.

They were good species, got along with other aliens as well till some decided to take advantage.

Some osmosians were trapped and used like how kevin was in AF for taydenite , anodites were kidnapped for power source, and very few from both planets went rogue and murdered people.

So the sisters decided it was better to cut themsleves off from other specoes, only interacting if actually needed.

Which is why you dont see a lot of osmosians and anodites around casually, but you see other aliens.

I also have a headcanon that when devin left to join the plumbers , the osmosian queen had strictly instructed him to send over any child he has because she was worried any osmosian child outside her protection would be harmed.

Devin died before he could send kevin over, otherwise kevin was supposed to grow and learn power control on osmos and only then would he have been allowed to leave the planet to do whatever he wanted.

Verdona was also supposed to do something similar, which is why she came back to check if anyone had inherited powers and did really try to bring gwen to anodyne because the anodyne queen had similar rules.

A lot of alien species view osmosians and anodites as snobby monsters because the two races are far too powerful and the few who went rogue really did a number on the lower race aliens.

Which is why Max did not care for kevin being a child when he threw him into the nullvoid, and also why he favours ben over gwen.

There this inbuilt level of raceism( aliensim?) Within Max and quite a few plumbers.

They tolerate kevin and gwen but will not hesitate to take them out the second they slip up.

I do headcanon kevin at some point does go to osmos and gwen to anodyne, not to live forever but to see wherw they come from.

Kevins surprised to see the osmosians are actually nerdy and uptight, and the gwen to see the anodites are waay to free and careless.

The sister queens are the most powerful amongst the races ( duh lol) and have been around forever.

Theyre also pretty chill with each other, constantly teasing and playing pranks.

Haven't done an anodite lore post in a bit so here's a short thought I have on Anodyne no one asked for: I think anodites are an invasive species

anodites aren't native to Anodyne as they don't require a physical home, it's just a planet that they chose for themselves as a safe haven, reason being that-

similarly to Xenon, the place is incredibly hard to reach without wrecking your spaceship, and even harder to get out of, which makes it perfect to evade hunters, energy vampires or whatever else could harvest them and therefore adapt for younger anodites to train

and the constant contact with energy being very much made of life has permanently and significantly altered the planet from its original state, to the point it almost developed a life of its own (idk like- Vesta from Scavengers Reign if you've seen it)

What's your headcanon about how the Spark works? Also, since Anodites seem to be souls that can exist independently of bodies, do you think Gwen was born with an Anodite soul or did Gwen's human soul gradually transform into an Anodite one as she grew up?

Thanks for asking! Unfortunately, I myself have no clue of how the Spark works :D

Yes, anodites can live independently from a physical body, that much is established in What Little Girls Are Made Of, and my assumption has always been that more precisely they are sentient manifestations of the mana field itself- so yeah,"souls" seems close enough. Although to be fair, when it comes to energy beings and magic I think it's impossible to give an actual proper 100% precise definition and description, as both concepts are by design supposed to be beyond human understanding and/or science, so take it with a pinch of salt; "life energy" is the closest thing we get to a proper definition of what mana really is, which at least taken at face value would seem to mean an ethereal type of energy that doesn't have electrons and such but rather simply "exists" in (nearly) all life forms and "flows" in whatever universe/ realm harbors life.

Now, my assumption has always been that Gwen's spark (which I understand to be the capacity to manipulate mana naturally) was awakened by her consistent practice of magic over the years rather than the latter being a consequence of the former- because if anodites don't have DNA (as established in the show) and therefore the spark cannot be passed down the question shouldn't so much be why don't Frank, Carl and Ben have it, rather why does Gwen have it, and magic seem to be the only plausible answer. Because the magic system of Ben 10 is mostly whatever the episode needs and the anodite lore is also pretty inconsistent I haven't really come up with a more solid theory as to why that would be the case- I just know that the two things are intertwined and that's that. I plan to rewrite both at some point in the future, but for now that's all I have on the concept of the Spark. I'm really sorry to disappoint :(

On the other hand, I AM very much in love with what the implications for Gwen's unorthodox case might be, given that Verdona presents living as an anodite as something non compatible with humanity/ a physical being's life. But because you asked a specific question, I will give a specific answer:

I think Gwen will be a full on energy being eventually in her life- not because her soul will transform, rather because it will persist. Her human body will age, the anodite inside her will not.

While she wasn't born as one, Gwen IS an anodite- one that lives within the constraints of a physical body out of her own volition yes, but an anodite nonetheless. If I recall correctly, she herself claims to be "more anodite than what she thought" in Ultimate Sacrifice (which I think is also connected with her doing magic all the time, as though the constant practice of it is speeding up her anodite's evolution), and as her anodite grows stronger she'll eventually reach maturity and will be able to separate herself from her own human body altogether and "return to the mana field" so to speak (Verdona says that would take up around 70-ish years and I think that somewhat tracks with the average life-span of a human being).

Which is also why (TRIGGER WARNING) I have theorized that there's a chance that at some point in time, when she's too human for her anodite side to detach itself but too anodite to bear living with her own corporeal limitations, she might start to physically harm herself impulsively- as if her anodite side became somewhat of a parasite.
