A few photos
Taye Jacobs posted some photos of the cast and crew of Capsized. Griffin’s in slide 4 at the front in the yellow tshirt, by a dog 😏 and slide 13.
Also finally there’s context for Ben Coffman crediting Griffin with taking one or more of these (I can’t make out the first emoji in the caption).
Interesting to see when it was filmed - late autumn 2024, before Pig Village and Seekers of Infinite Love last year.
One artist I researched is the photographer Ben Coffman. His photos generally go from the concept of the collision between the natural and man-made worlds. I like this photographer, because he includes man made objects in his pictures that give you a better understanding of the location. I also like his use of colours, and the fact he does not usually alter his photographs in photoshop. I think the shots he took of stars are particulary good as they seem to have more of a constellation type pattern to them, instead of a fully starred sky like in Aaron Priests photographs.
I feel researching him will effect my later work, as I plan to add some of the colours I have seen in my final designs. Also even though I like the man-made objects in his pictures, I feel it would stray to far from my project; as its main focus is nature itself. I plan on using his pictures in my final designs, or to make new images myself to make something completely new.
New on 500px : Troll castle by BenCoffman by BenCoffman I spent a memorable day during my second visit to Mono Lake last year. The low water levels made compositions particularly tricky, or at least it felt that way to me, anyway.

The stately Mt Rainier reflects in Reflection Lake during a late-summer sunset. No matter how beautiful its surroundings (and they are beautiful–I’m not sure this photo or any photo really do it justice), I can’t help but feel like Rainier is a brooding, somewhat malignant presence. This giant has incredible power. This is a somewhat tight crop from a 5-frame panorama shot in portrait…

New on 500px : At the gates by BenCoffman by BenCoffman From a trip to Arches National Park a week ago for my spring night-sky photography workshop. I had a mix of cloudy nights and clear nights while I was shooting, but the clear nights were spectacular.
