How cute are these final shots 🥰 It’s nice to see the design on his boots. I’m still not over the Griffin slander 🫨 They’re a funny bunch.
I got to thinking about Griffin’s sweater. It seems a funny phrase to wear and I wondered about it back in March too, but it just clicked more in my brain. It reminds me of “when people tell you who you are the first time, believe them”, if it wasn’t a joke.
It occurred to me that you could question it and he might say “of course it’s a joke, I’m not a proud gaslighter really.” Then you might feel reassured, but a moment later think “…wait.” So that’s funny. Maybe it’s not a joke that needs explaining 😏
Spoilers for Locke & Key seasons 1 & 2, some of the comics’ lore, and minor spoilers for Baldur’s Gate 3 - class, race and tattoo choices, and images of the character’s face and outfits (otherwise cropped with just furniture and the sky in the background).
I found BG3 in its last months of early access and knew I’d love it. RPGs are my thing and I hadn’t played a turn-based game before, but I like Dungeons and Dragons. Turn-based suits me with my slower reaction time and stiffer hands. I’ve played the game loads and made 15 characters, though only played a few for long (one is near the end), I just love trying different things. I have a favourite game each decade - The Sims 2 and Guild Wars 2 before this. I might make some of Griffin’s characters in The Sims 4.
I used two mods for the face and hair, though the face isn’t very accurate, just the closest I could find (some older mods were better, but not updated with the newer patches so they crashed the game). The face is pretty similar to one of the defaults, but I didn’t notice at first, and that default’s available for less of the races.
I used Toarie’s face preset called Jess (btw, it’s only for a few races and one body type, and they need the high animation setting to work properly). And hairstyle number 128 from Tav’s hair salon. There’s a default hairstyle in the game like Gabe’s, but to me it doesn’t look right. Another default style is similar and more loose like 128, but longer at the back.
Images on the mod pages are a little spoilery (not for the story, more generally). There are similar, or older versions, of the mods on the Nexus site, but Mod.io is the one used by the newer in-game mod manager where they’re more up to date and easier to install.

I gave him dark grey eyeshadow to add a bit more interest, though he looks fine without it. When I looked at pictures of Dodge, her eyeshadow’s more grey than black (could just be the lighting). I used the rose and thorns neck tattoo since it’s on the neck like his “I want to look hard” temporary lobster tattoo and also romantic, but spiky. I forgot to add any earpiercings partly because I wasn’t sure any of them suited him. I almost forgot the highlights in his hair, but they really make the look.
He’s a high elf shadow sorcerer and I thought of making him a drow, but the specific lore didn’t fit so well. High elf doesn’t fully either, but their inherent magic fits.
I ended up giving him quite average ability scores of 12 in all except charisma which sorcerer uses most. In the show, he’s good at everything so it was too difficult to choose between them. It makes the gameplay interesting to do different things that suit a character (often they have higher scores in some abilities and lower in others, but you can do what you like in your own game).
I considered warlock and wizard for the class especially since wizard has access to a few more spells that suit Gabe’s powers and interests, but sorceror’s inherent magic made more sense. The warlock subclass The Great Old One fits with some lore in the Locke & Key comics (I found out on the wiki) that’s inspired by H. P. Lovecraft, but we don’t hear about that in the show.
I’ve seen this photo before, but the caption gets me thinking about Gabe and Kinsey. They’re mostly wearing their costumes from the final episode of season 2, except for Griffin’s pants and shoes. He used to wear those trainers quite often.
He’s giving such Gabe vibes, though I’m not sure they’re posing in character. Griffin giving a moody smoulder makes it hard to tell.
Spoilery thoughts
It makes me think about Kinsey and Gabe if things had worked out differently. I’ll get more fanfic ideas soon 😏
Lucas Ansel posted a photo of Griffin, Tommy, Demit and himself.
Tommy shared it to his story with a poll asking “Would u trust us with your money”. Final vote was Yes - 41% and No - 59% (I voted no) 😏
The cheesy vibe is giving used-car salesmen (stereotypically dodgy) or perhaps the cast of Guys & Dolls (which Griffin was in as a kid - he played Nathan Detroit).
I feel for Kevin here. Having a guy’s hands wrapped around your neck can’t be fun. I wonder if Griffin had any input on the guinea pigs (were pets his idea?) They’re a nice addition to Kevin’s personality. Their cage looks too small and empty, though. They need more space and stuff to burrow in, I think.

I cropped just Griffin to post here only because it’s quite an intense shot of Thomas and I wonder if he’d prefer I don’t, or if he wouldn’t be bothered either way.
It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Griffin and this is lovely photo. Where are the modelling people, honestly (ditto re Thomas)? This is the kind of photo the Dan and Phil phandom would call “accidental modelling”, though I get the vibe that Griffin was posing, so maybe just modelling ☺️
I find the first New York photo pretty funny. The face he’s making and the red stuff dripping from his mouth. I can only guess it’s something like a strawberry smoothie, but idk 🤷🏻♀️

The pigeon calmly landing on him seems incredible. I wondered for a moment if it might be edited, but you can see its talons digging into his hand.
Spoilers for Locke & Key season 2, episode 6 - The Maze. Screenshots from AnnieAllen’s gifs. Some of these are very similar, but I like seeing the subtle differences in his expressions.
I left them with the duller colouring from the show rather than brightening with iOS Photos’ auto-adjust since that makes the slight blurriness more obvious.
Plus Eden with the Egg McMuffin shoved into her face by her delightful companion (“friend” seems too strong a word).
