Ben Kendrick’s “Desolation of Smaug” Makes It Through to a Solid Ending

If at first Ben Kendrick’s “‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ Review” seems like a bit of a mishmash, stick with it. By the latter part of the piece, he does a fine job of pulling it all together into a cohesive work.

Kendrick makes a good choice, starting the review right off with the plot synopsis; getting it out of the way, as it were, but using it to set the rest of the piece off rather well. He even includes a link to his review of the first film for those who are interested; this is a nice touch.

It may not be necessary to then reprise comments about the first film, especially since the link is provided, but it doesn’t last long. It also seems a little hard at first to get a handle on what he thinks of the first or second movie: he makes special mention of the prior film’s shortcomings, only to say in almost the same breath that each film (including the first one) has “a solid balance of comedy, action, character, and heart.” Yet, in the same sentence, the second film “isn’t an overwhelming step up” from the first film, yet it’s “an already strong franchise.” Confusing, eh?

Nevertheless, Kendrick finds his footing midway through, guiding the reader more easily through a clearer second half. If he seems to be trying to have it both ways early on, the second half makes up for it, leading to, ultimately, a solid read.

Ben Kendrick’s “‘Thor: The Dark World’ Review” is a thorough review that portrays entertaining exposition and stellar presentation. Although lengthy, readers are likely to grab some popcorn and enjoy the creative vision and voice until the very end!

Kendrick gives an excellent plot rundown intro that immediately engages, and he successfully builds upon content from there in order to keep the reader glued to their seats. He consistently offers insightful opinions backed by reasonable examples. He adroitly touches on character development like a lit professor with charisma, providing analysis that is extremely thorough with all of the main characters. Kendrick accomplishes exactly what a movie reviewer should—immerse the reader with artistic style and relevant information without grammar, flow, or analytical issues.

Review also delivers an outstanding, aesthetically pleasing presentation, with clear font and excellent background color. There are intriguing pictures from Thor: The Dark World that are showcased at just the right moments between paragraphs. Any reader weary and leery of pop-up advertisements and ugly, buggy web-pages will not find any of that with Review’s venue.

Readers may have only quip here: Kendrick slips into repeating specific words and similar opinions on occasion. Given its lengthiness, he could have easily shaved about two-hundred words off to ensure more readers would continue reading the review in its entirety. Yet, in spite of its length, Kendrick is surprisingly adept at balancing the sheer amount of content that he provides.

While Review doesn’t escape all of the pitfalls one might encounter in a reading experience, it definitely ups the ante for fresh movie review writing and publication presentation, making it a preferred choice among venues and writers. Heading to a local theater to see Thor: The Dark World is likely to occur after reading this review, and no one will walk away underwhelmed.

Ben Kendrick’s “Cloudy 2” Review Spends Too Much Time on Who Voiced Whom

To get to the meat of Ben Kendrick’s “‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2’ Review,” one must first endure an obstacle course of parentheses in the opening paragraph. Most, but not all, of these parenthetical interjections are to note which voice actor voiced which character. It’s all well and good to provide that information, but cramming it all in the opening sentences makes for a real tedious start to the proceedings.

Parentheses show up pretty regularly throughout the course of the review, too, as well as more interjections about who is providing the voice for every single one of the characters mentioned. And boy are there are a lot of characters.

If you can get past all the parentheses, the rest of the review is not all that bad. It lightly summarizes the film and effectively portrays its strengths and weaknesses. Kendrick won’t be winning any prizes, but his writing gets the job done.

Extra points for style go to the white font on a dark background. It may not be in vogue right now, but it does allow the colorful screenshots from the movie to come alive against their gray backdrop.

In the end, Kendrick’s Cloudy with a Chance is a mostly competent review, if not the most elegantly written one. Readers may balk at all the parentheses they have to maneuver around, but if they put in the time they’ll find some worthwhile criticism under the layer of awkwardness.

Ben Kendrick’s “The Worlds End: Review” Is Worth Your Time

Ben Kendrick’s planet-sized “The World’s End Review” could warrant cliff notes itself. The reviewer goes one step beyond reviewing this film, and takes a look back at the previous films in “The Cornetto Trilogy.”

This all encompassing review practically needs a governing body, and a geographic location on a world map. But the beauty—and the drawback—of this piece are one and the same: the writer focuses on The Worlds End in the greater context of the trilogy, and although he doesn’t call it a sequel, you get the feeling it is getting a sequel-like treatment here. There is mention of how this film is not quite as funny as the other films in “The Cornetto Trilogy,” (which may be true) but the fact remains that this is a stand-alone title, and this review does not effectively treat it as such.

Of course, with this review, there is far more good than bad. And, in a nod to brevity, Mr. Kendrick does a great job of dispatching the synopsis quickly and quietly, as to not get in the way of the actual review. He also lets his feelings about this film known clearly; there no guess-work involved: he clearly liked the film.

If you are looking to spend your time wisely on any given review let it be this one, as Ben Kendrick’s viewpoint will likely persuade those who may not necessarily fans of Edgar Wright’s brand of humor to see the film.

Ben Kendrick’s “‘Prisoners’ Review” reads well and carefully shares information that is gounded by engaging context and format.

The review is ideally showcased on an awesome Screen Rant webpage with a layout that satisfies the search for an enjoyable reading experience. The background earth tones, clean font, and center location of the review even makes the advertisements bearable and acceptable. There’s also a great sequence of provocative and strategically placed pictures from Prisoners, as well as a great trailer for the reader to watch at the end.

While Kendrick’s wording stumbles in a few places, this very thorough and complex review explains, analyzes, and intrigues enough to make up for these mild shortcomings. The repetition of information in places may make the review seem too lengthy for movie review readers who are simply looking for a fun read, but there’s no question this reviewer is committed to providing a quality review.

Review gives much—but not too much. Kendrick provides an uncompromising read that succeeds in making smart, effective use of his writing talent and the information at hand.

In both presentation and writing style, this is an excellent choice for those interested in reading about Prisoners’ plot movement, character development, and powerful thematic elements. A tremendous and resounding success.

I just heard about London-based photographer Catherine Gratwicke from Iris because Catherine is photographing her home today for an upcoming book (congrats, Iris!) and so I had to check out her portfolio and I’m so glad I did. Catherine has a great eye and enormous talent for interiors photography and stills. I thought I’d share a few glimpses of her work today so you can be inspired too.
