He made a fake ICE tip line. DHS [the Department of Homeland Security] issued a nationwide alert for him. His response to the news? He laughed.

Ben Palmer, a Nashville comedian, built a parody ICE tip website. Real people called it, thinking they were reporting immigrants to the government. He recorded every call, including a kindergarten teacher who reported one of her own student's parents. 20 million TikTok views later, DHS noticed.

DHS issued a nationwide 'Be On the Look Out' (BOLO) alert, the kind normally used for wanted criminals and missing persons, and sent it to law enforcement across the country.

Palmer didn't know about the BOLO until a reporter called him. His response: he found it hilarious and called it proof the project worked.

At the bottom of that same BOLO alert, DHS wrote that Palmer 'does not pose any direct threat to life or infrastructure.' They mobilized national law enforcement against a comedian for making them look bad.
