Ben Riach 10 year. The peat hits you on the first glug from the bottle, with an intoxicating smell that makes me weak to the knees. Taste is light but smokey, easy to drink, and dry as it runs over your tongue (not creamy or rich). Also bought the 17 year and am looking forward to it. Single malt scotch. 8/10.
BenRiach 12. A lighter peated whisky that's a good introduction before jumping to Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig or other serious peat monsters. Smells and tastes great with peat taking over and a bit of spice, especially at the finish. Definitely worth a try if you come across it. Single malt Scotch whisky. 8/10.
.:. Update: As this guy sits on the shelf the peat calms down a bit more. Becomes slightly minty and a bit more fresh and clean. Still 8/10 and excellent, but an interesting development after being open after only a month or so. Great whisky tends to stay great!
.:. Update 2: As I finish this bottle, it has gotten a bit more sweet. Sweet + peat is a good combination! Still 8/10 and wonderful. Buy a bottle!

Nose: A Farmer's raincoat drying out in the utility room.
Body: Les Dawson' Mother-in-law
Finish: Gary Caldwell's lunging, slightly fortuitous goal against France, that despite it's bludgeoned delivery resulted in sheer delight.

Finish: Chris Iwelomu against Norway, if he turned his heel 5mm more to the right
