omg wait i need to hear more headcanons of them on the island

ok i got two of these asks that were identical and idk wheter youre talking about leadotin or just the cluster in general so ill do one for each heres the unsinkable eight:

- once shelby and toni reveal to the group that they are a couple, dot gives toni the shovel talk. martha is too nice to give shelby the shovel talk but she does her best.

- fatin walks around humming music all the time. it doesnt bother anyone except nora, who tries very hard to ignore it until fatin starts humming a version of her favorite song and she breaks down a bit because she really misses music and hearing fatin humming just reminds her of how much she misses it. fatin stops humming around nora after that.

- when they get into group arguments, whoever is the most level headed (usually dot, but sometimes shelby or martha) makes everyone go to a quiet corner, to avoid a repeat of the shelter building fiasco of a day. they each have a spot. toni is the only one allowed on the beach (its too open and they dont stop glaring at eachother) because she threatened to fight someone for the beach spot. she likes her sand.

- rachel, while not cuddly like martha or leah, likes bro hugs (the really tight ones where youre hitting the other persons back and it ends in a fist bump). she did a lot of them when she was actively competing in diving, it was a way she and her teammates told eachother good job. when they discover this as a group, they all make sure she gets at least one Rachel Hug (as they are dubbed) a day.

- martha is feistier than we see. after the goat, she finds her spark, and we start to see some of the crassness and teasing we see from toni (not on the same scale and all in good fun, but she can dish it as much as she can take it). this startles all of them, especially fatin, but when she starts to find that spark, toni is SO PROUD she just beams at martha whenever she stands up for herself or teases one of the girls

- shelby makes little rock paths that all lead back to their shelter, a la finding dory. rock paths now span from their makeshift home like rays from the sun. there are many stubbed toes, but the paths are still appreciated.

- dot chews on leaves when she wants a cigarette. they all know not to bother her when they can see her chomping on a random plant.

- these dipshits love eachother. they love eachother with everything they have. as much as they tease and complain, they all know that they have a place in their little family. they begin to learn how best to help one another, and they become more than friends, they become a family. if theyre a bit codependent once they get off the island, noone tells them. their bond is stronger than anything any of them have ever known.

dot: when was the last time you two slept?

leah and fatin after watching movies all night because they couldn’t fall asleep without dot: we have not slept in since we last saw you many hours

not a headcanon but i would love to know more about the leadotin relationship dynamic while theyre still on the island

honeslty same im trying to write a fic that touches on that and every five minutes i think “hmm i want to read this but writing is is so much efforttttt”

but my headcanons are as follows:

- dot starts to burn out a few weeks after the plane passing (the shark attack didnt happen. fuck canon) but she worries that the girls wont survive without her. while shes away “in the bathroom” (leah and fatin know shes just off crying in the woods) fatin sits the girls down and gives an angry speech (written by leah) about how they need to “get their shit together” and “give dorothy one day off” and dot returns to camp to five girls looking very apologetic (or in tonis case, grumpy) and all of them volunteering to take all of her work. after a few hours she just goes “did one of you do something? please just tell me if you lost the lighter” and theyre like “no? were trying to give you a break?” and dots has a definitely doesnt get mist eyed when she sees leah and fatin thanking the other girls for helping

- fatin is the Cool Mom to dots responsible parent vibe. you wanna see if you can jump off that cliff? cool just let me watch. is that berry poisonous? hey rachel come try this its delicious! she is very good at taking care of the girls emotional well being, but someone would end up dead if she was ever left in charge of more than dating advice

- we all know that leah loves to use people as pillows, but after her run into the ocean she gets Very Clingy esp with fatin and dot. its not uncommon to see leah trailing behind fatin as she washes clothes or holding dots hand while theyre searching for food. rachel teases them at first but martha smacks her because its honestly sweet and also leah makes tasks go twice as fast (plus all of her stuff is done. its that or sitting around. let the girl help)

what do you think would be leah and fatins reaction when dot tells them what happened with her dad

dot is definitely the type to casually drop information about traumatic life events, so she’ll be sitting with leah and fatin sometime and o holy night comes on and she gets a bit teary. when leah and fatin ask whats wrong, dot just says something along the lines of “this is the song i helped my dad die to” and leah and fatin nod and run her back for a moment before it hits them and theyre like 😀 “dottie. whAT?” and dot explains it to them and they just kinda hold her hamds and let her process it. dots in the center of the cuddle puddle that night, but leah and fatin provide silent support more than anything. dot just needs to know they’re there, and they are. they make sure dot never feels alone again

Leah calling Fatin and Dot endearing terms like "beloved" "(my) love" "darling" "sweetheart" when they're on-camera but off-camera she's just a fucking GREMLIN and is always like "oh you fucking asshole i love you so much" and it's just ❤️❤️

- while leah loves to use people as pillows, when they all get together, fatin is the touchiest. she will almost always be found on either leah or dots lap (sometimes both at the same time. noone knows how she manages that) and while she claims that its because “im tired of wet sand in my asscrack” leah and dot can feel her relax and so they consent to being fatins chairs and just adjust their seating habits accordingly.

- fatin also loves piggy back rides. dot loves to give piggy back rides. leah is nervous whenever piggy back rides are mentioned because “dot, fatin is taller than you have to stop trying to carry her upstairs THIS ISNT GONNA END WELL”

- dot can fall asleep anywhere. she sits down to take a break on their way up to the waterfall and fatin looks over and bam dots asleep. in seconds. leah and fatin respond very differently. leah turns herself into a bed for dot and lets her rest for a bit. fatin turns dot into a bed for herself, inevitably waking dot up

- soft!dot. thats it thats the headcanon

- leah cannot watch them prepare whatever meat they killed. her rule is if it has eyes, she cant watch it being prepared. fatin can look at it, but she says she cant and takes martha and leah with her to forage (which is really just fatin trying to take their minds off of their food source)

- leah burns super easily. like she gets the worst sunburns, to the point where anything touching it, even just her clothes is agonizing. neither dot or fatin can really help her, but theyre always careful not to touch the especially sunburned parts of her when theyre all cuddling
