Would one play Trump, or the Devil? I am sure there is a reason why Trump is the way he is, so yes, would I like to unearth that, it would be interesting. Do I want to play him, no, I don’t want to give him any more air time than the man is already manufacturing for himself. Everyone is so bored of it.

The more charming person is the person who admits the other person is more charming.

From interviews for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, December 2013
And this was the one I’d originally set about to post today, but my old blog post of this only had static photos, so wasn’t much help for analysis. A little digging on Google Images netted these - I’m not sure who actually made them to begin with though. And as usual, Martin was asked a fairly innocuous question about how they got along and assumed they were asking about sex. He does this. A lot.
Again, tagging @welovethebeekeeper (who does this for a living) for her take.
“It is a wonderful thing to get married young and become a father. I used to think that I’d get married by mid-30’s and have children. But now I think I can wait. I’m no longer in a hurry to get married. I would like to first get to know the partner and build a trusting relationship before making the commitment.”-----I find it highly interesting that he doesn't say "first get to know the woman/my future wife/girlfriend" but "the PARTNER". Ahem...How delightfully ambiguous there Ben ;)
Yes! I was just discussing that with someone last night! It is *very* strange, isn’t it? And it’s not the first time he’s used that weird sort of distancing language when he’s talking about wife/family stuff. I’ll have to do a post on that sometime too. TWIL/TWIPT and ‘the lifeform’ spring to mind already.
Edited to add: As I seem to have completely failed to address the point the nonny was making here the first time around, yes, let me agree that that’s a very gender non-specific word to use if you just mean girlfriend/fiancee/wife, since those spring much more readily to mind when talking about a female love interest.
“And since the woman I’m engaged to is as much a part of me as anything else in my life, if they like me, by extension they like her.”

Ahem. Rings a bell, doesn’t it?
“Once would have been nice.” “I know what kind of man you are.” “Whatever it is you are.” “Girlfriend? Not really my area” …
I would like to first get to know the partner and build a trusting relationship before making the commitment.
