It wasn’t until his fourth birthday that Benji Fitzroy was introduced to his father, the respected business tycoon, Maverick Jacobs. The unexpected and sudden arrival of his second child left Maverick in less than a favorable situation. Although, once it was established that Benji’s mother, a former beauty queen, had every intention of cashing in on Maverick’s fortune, but that Benji, unlike his older half-brother, was of sound mind, Maverick began to adapt in order to integrate his bastard son more fully into his life. Benji’s mother, pleased with the arrangement was met, several years later, with great misfortune in a boating accident. Maverick himself was nearly killed in the accident which left him with a scar on his right shoulder blade. At this point, on Benji’s thirteenth birthday, Maverick gifted his surname to his son in the form of legal adoption. Excited by the prospect of pleasing his distant sire, Benji “accepted” and legally became Benji Jacobs. His mother never once mentioned again, despite the whispered rumors that her death was in actuality foul play.

As the second son of Maverick, Benji assumed he would never be granted the mantle his father currently wears. However, his older brother is less than capable, leaving the entire family enterprise to be undertaken by Benji when his father deems it time. Always a curious bloke, Benji graduated with his Master’s degree in business management and an associate in molecular biology. It wasn’t until he was seventeen that Maverick began to include Ben in the more … criminal activities of Jacob’s Transportation & Fishing. Two years later, Ben took over running the fishing portion of the company even as he remained in university. Upon graduation, Maverick signed the fishing side of the business over to Benji’s name and allows his son to run that portion of the enterprise as he sees fit with little oversight.

To date, Benji works under and beside his father to make the family business a thriving endeavor, both legally and illegally. When he’s not consumed with work, Benji enjoys deep sea diving and reading.
