Botanicals seem to be all the rage in social media, right? I may have been infected, to try this simple barberry twig. I love all plants with multicoloured foliage and these plants are very common for hedges around here, and I have taken apart every bit of this plant from a young age (they're toxic, I'm saying just in case. Somehow I managed to never get poisoned from all the wonderful plants around me that can kill one-to-five year olds). The different shades in the leaves, from the upper and lower sides to the change of colour from pale greens to red purple was very interesting and something I will look into again. A4 watercolour on paper.
