Favorite pictures of my toys, part one.

You turn your back for 2 minutes.

So I was looking at the various Berenguer La Newborn dolls (the 14/15 inch babies) and trying to decide which I wanted. And I was in town thinking wouldn't it be nice if one just showed up in a charity shop?

Next charity shop I walk into, I look in a box of damaged Barbies and find rolling around the bottom... a Berenguer Lil Cutesies Mermaid. One of the 5 inch ones. With a blue-stained face and no price tag.

I figured it was the universe taking the mick. Counter lady said "Well, it's stained... 20p?" I said I've got a 50p coin, take that, and brought her home.

Sadly, the colour is not coming off - I was thinking it would be like the Kids N Catz where a bit of nail polish remover did the trick, but this is doing nothing at all. But I couldn't bring myself to just chuck her in the bin...

So. I made her an attempt at a pencil crayon and a book of drawings, to go with having drawn all over herself. I'll redo the pencil later, it was just a first go. Likewise the clothes, they're just a quick size-down of a full-sized pattern.

This seems to be in keeping with me picking up odd-sized dolls - the 8 inch dolls from this line were far more popular and have more patterns. But there's a tiny number of free patterns and a handful of paid, so I'm digging into Ravelry to do what I can. It'll keep me occupied for a bit.

Baby is here! This is a 8” Berenguer Lots to Love baby who will be serving as both Kirsten’s little sister Britta and the orphan Marie-Grace rescues, Philip.

Babies in jammies: Part 2 of 2! These are my under 18-inch smaller baby dolls. They’re dressed in a mix of Bitty Baby, preemie, and handmade outfits.

Mabel with her new pacifier. I just cut off the nipple and put a piece of a silicone earplug on the back. Sticks on without damaging the lips.
