Berkeley Ironworks has a really nice weight lifting area despite being primarily about climbing.
rocks and things
New shoes, pealing fingers, good day
Spent halloween weekend with Ryan’s sister Amy & her friend Isabel.
On Friday we managed to have dinner at Forge in Jack London Square, drinks at Plank and go out Friday night to So Stoked in Oakland.
On Saturday we woke up early and headed to Lake Merritt for the Monster Dash 5k and fun run to benefit the Oakland Food Pantry. Then we headed to Berkeley Ironworks to get in some climbing, before lunching our way through Jack London Square’s “Bark, Bites, and Brews” Halloween festival and doggie costume contest. After relaxing for an hour or so after lunch, we enjoyed some Yogurtland frozen yogurt before hitting Safeway and picking up all the fixin’s we needed for Ryan to cook us a delicious chicken, broccoli, cheese sauce pasta. Before bed, we watched HP #7.2. Still as amazing as ever.
Sunday morning we hit up Authentic Bagel Co for the best local breakfast sandwiches and bagels, then enjoyed the Jack London Square Farmers Market before sending Amy & Isabel back to Sonoma State. After they left, Ryan and I cleaned the house, did a couple loads of laundry, went to Home Depot, and went on a short run down San Francisco Bay Trail to play catch at the Estuary Park, before coming home and mopping the whole house and cleaning the bathroom. To end the weekend, Ryan slow baked the two of us fresh steak we picked up at the Farmers Market, with boiled potatoes and fresh green beans, also from the Farmers Market.
All that within 48 hours... I would say it was a winning weekend :)
Also wow looking back I can hardly believe we did all those things!
Hope you all had incredible weekends of your own. Happy Monday!
I filmed myself climbing in the gym. this was very sloppy! both the climbing and the video haha...but it's a very fun little problem, powerful moves on good holds. the tape says V7, but I don't think it's nearly that hard. V5 feels more accurate. really like it though!
