You can also use a walking foot with an open toe to see what you are doing. . . Watch how my hands smooth out the fabric as I go. . I press all seams open to reduce bulk and actually stay IN the ditch. . Contrary to popular myth it will NOT weaken the seams. In fact it will actually secure them to the quilt! 👍🏻👍🏻 . When piecing, you can sew with a shorter stitch length (1.8-2.0) to prevent the ends of the seams from coming apart.
