shy! bertholdt meets reader for the “first time” and is conflicted
fluff, use of y/n
the sun was beginning to set. casting a shadow across the training corps grounds. bertholdt let out a exasperated sigh. limbs aching from the long hours of constant training. all day he was fantasising about the deep sleep he would have tonight. bertholdt had discovered that his sleep was so intense that he was unable to dream, something he was always aware of. since starting at the training corps, bertholdt’s sleep had been disrupted with loud giggles and whispers. each morning, he woke up in a new outrageous position and quickly understood his roommates reactions. it was embarrassing to say the least. but no matter what he did, he would always be in a different position when morning came. bertholdt hurriedly picked up his pace towards the dorms. hoping to elongate his sleep for the night.
bertholdt turned the last corner before it was a straight line to his dorm. closing his eyes. preparing for utter bliss as he called it. however, bertholdt’s eyes shot open when he collided with a girl. oh my god. what is he supposed to do? he just pushed this girl to the ground. he looks down anxiously only to be met with a pair of doe like eyes peering up at him curiously. his breath catches in his throat. quickly he fumbles to help her up, muttering multiple sorries to the girl. “i-i wasn’t looking where i-i was going.” bertholdt muttered hoping the girl would be merciful. afraid of her reaction, bertholdt braced himself.
y/n shot to her feet. smiling unintentionally as she waited for bertholdt to finish his apologies. bertholdt peered down at her patiently. waiting for her reaction. whether it was bad or good. he tried to avoid eye contact but found himself feeling the constant desire to look into her eyes. suddenly, bertholdt heard a giggle from the girl. his eyes widened. unaware of what was to come. “its okay, handsome” y/n giggled. bertholdt felt the wind being knocked out of him. did he mishear that? did she just call him handsome? surely not… right. bertholdt stands there speechless curiously peering down at the girl who was still giggling flirtatiously.
he prepared himself. he needed to say something. “its-uh-bertholdt.” bertholdt muttered. avoiding eye contact once more, he heard the smaller girl erupt into a fit of girlish laughter once more. “i know your name, silly.” bertholdt looked into her eyes. had they met? had they seriously met and he had forgotten? how embarrassing. “how did yo- have we um- met?” bertholdt questioned. he felt heat rise to his face. his eyes flickered towards her face. looking to see her reaction. y/n maintained her innocence. smiling at him flirtatiously. “i was in your group today, you said good luck to me, how could you forget.” y/n giggled.
bertholdt’s eyes widened. he felt his ears burning. how could he forget that? how embarrassing, she must think he’s so rude. he cant even remember his name. how could he forget someone so beautiful. beautiful? did he seriously just think that. is he serious. he needs to focus. why is he worried about embarrassing himself in-front of a devil? she doesn’t seem like a devil. “my name is y/n by the way, in case you forgot.” y/n confessed, her eyes locked on bertholdt.
he totally forgot. it was obvious she knew he completely forgot about their exchange. so embarrassing. she was teasing him. bertholdt gulped. staring into her eyes cautiously. “yeah i did…sorry” bertholdt mumbled shamefully. y/n giggled quietly keeping her eyes locked on bertholdt. “its okay dont worry” the girl said assertively. trying to ease his troubles. bertholdt cleared his throat. hoping that this agonising moment would soon end. a beautiful girl like this, staring right into his sole after he had completely forgotten that they had met. unbelievably embarrassing.
“anyways i should get going, i hope to see you around bertholdttttt” y/n sang. skipping towards the lunch hall. waving ecstatically at the boy. bertholdt watched intently. she was mesmerising. he had never seen someone he thought was so beautiful. he grimaced. beautiful? a devil? how can someone like that be a devil? he always hoped that the stories told to him about the “devils of paradis” were fabricated in some way. silently hoping that the marleyans were wrong. how can someone that the marleyans hate so much, be so beautiful, so sophisticated, so graceful. bertholdt’s mind was flooded with conflicting thoughts. all he knew was that she was no devil.
Warnings: Angsty fluff. I wrote this with a lot of emotion lol.
Summary: You have asked nothing of the other but to be understood. Both of you have yet to elaborate why, but it’s clear that it’s all you’ll ever need from the other.
The beautiful night sky surrounded you, wrapping its arms around you and encasing you in its warmth. The moon was high overhead, reflecting off of the pond that rested at your feet. Overall, it was a beautiful sight, the stars twinkling and the crickets chirping as your comrades slept peacefully back at the camp.
You sat down and admired the moon, your knees pressed to your chest, chin resting upon them. You were so lost in your observation of the night that you hadn’t noticed the person beside you until they spoke.
“It’s beautiful out here, isn’t it?” The soft voice pulled you from your thoughts, no richly startling you. He met your surprised stare with an empathetic smile.
“It is indeed.” You nodded, the moon’s reflection allowing you to see the face of your comrade, even though you knew who it was.
In the short time that you had known each other, you had grown quite close. You were always seen joking around or just talking with one another. It was comforting to have someone so similar to you, both fighting for a cause that the other didn’t know about. You wanted to tell him why you had joined the scouts, and you could tell that he wanted to tell you too, but some things are just better left unsaid. You both understood that, and took comfort in knowing that the other was sworn to secrecy for the safety of others.
“Y/n… you should be resting… we have to get up early tomorrow.” Bertholdt placed a gentle hand onto your shoulder, softly caressing it. You leaned into his touch with a slight frown, closing your eyes as you felt his warmth.
“I could say the same thing to you Bert.” You sighed. He was just too good to be true, his kindness unlike any other. “Actually…” You trailed off, your lip beginning to quiver slightly. “N-No, never mind…”
“Ah. It’s one of those nights, hm?” Bertholdt frowned slightly, his arm reaching out to pull you closer to him as you fought back tears. You nodded into the side of his chest, silent sobs escaping you along with soft apologies.
“I don’t k-know how much longer I c-can take this…” You blubbered, wrapping your arms around his torso as he listened intently. “I-I’m scared…”
His eyes widened at the sound of your confession, shaking slightly as he processed your words. They had caught him off guard entirely, tears pricking the corners of his eyes.
‘I’m scared.’
Scared was too simple of a word to describe how he felt. He had lived his entire life in fear, not once knowing the feeling of being at peace until he had met you. Even Reiner had said there was something different about you when you had first met them, noting that you seemed to be compensating for something too.
Everyone had a reason for joining the scouts, and yours just happened to be more personal than most.
Bertholdt held you tightly, squeezing his eyes shut as a tear fell down his cheek. He didn’t want to cry, not now, and not ever. He had so many regrets, so many feelings that he kept buried deep within him, and seeing you in such a state only added to his woes.
“I-I’m sorry.” You whispered, voice cracking as you held back more tears. Your watery eyes met his, and you let out a sad chuckle at the sight. Bertholdt returned the gesture, his hand coming up to cup your cheek softly.
He was so gentle, treating you as if you were the most precious thing on Earth. No one had ever handled you in such a way, so the feeling felt was new, foreign. He leaned in slowly, bringing your chin up so his lips could meet yours.
Tears streamed down your face as you leaned into his kiss, intense feelings of both guilt and love swelling in your chest.
It was a simple gesture. A gesture that seemed to last forever, and one that you wished would.
The world should have slowed around you in that moment, it should have stopped entirely. You needed him to hold you until your heart stopped beating, his arms wrapped tightly around you until you took your last breath.
You loved him, but you didn’t quite understand what love was, so you were unable to voice your feelings. Instead, all you were able to do was kiss his cheek with hopes that he was some kind of mind reader.
Bertholdt leaned into you, grabbing your hand and bringing it to his cheek slowly. It made your heart swell, nearly bursting when he kissed you again and again and again.
He just kept on kissing you, trying to convey his own feelings without having to go through the trouble of putting them into words.
“B-Bert…” You smiled, eyes watering once again. You had no idea how to describe the overwhelming feelings of love and loneliness that swirled in your stomach, so you just sat in silence, staring into his beautiful eyes.
Everything about this moment was beautiful, the scenery, the actions, even the mood. It all seemed too good to be true, and it hurt you. What if this was all a dream? What if you awoke in the barracks with no one but your fellow female comrades surrounding you?
“I-I…” Your voice trailed off, clearly unsure of how to describe it to him.
“I love you too Y/n.”
Your eyes widened in shock, jaw dropping slightly as your face heated up. You hung your head, staring at the grass as if you were stunned into pure silence.
“So that’s what this feeling is…” You mumbled, Bertholdt’s chuckle pulling you back to reality.
“I love you.” He repeated, pulling you close to his body, long arms holding you tightly. “And I’ll never stop loving you. Ever. I’d give everything if it meant that we could be together forever.” He rubbed your back softly, head resting in the crook of your neck.
You wanted to speak, but you couldn’t, with your words failing you entirely. You wanted to say so many things to him, but you simply weren’t allowed to, and it hurt you to know that you couldn’t tell him everything.
“I…” You trailed off, biting your lip as you held him close. “Thank you…” You smile, not being able to say anything else, but still getting your point across.
You loved him, and he loved you. Even if it wasn’t ideal given your circumstances, it was love regardless, and it made you feel real. It gave you a reason to continue fighting, a reason to continue to keep getting up every morning.
Slowly, you kissed him again, holding his body close to yours underneath the moonlight. Maybe in another life, you’d be able to love him without the traumas of war and such. It was a far fetched idea, but you could still hope.
He pulled away from the kiss and rested his head on top of yours, staring into the night sky with a soft smile.
Maybe, just maybe, you’d get the chance to love each other like real people do.
i feel like high school bertholdt would be always in reiners shadow. so when u ask him on a date, he's blushing from his ears to his toes. u picked the arcade because u felt like it would suit him the most and u can't help but to see his eyes light up. he confesses that him and reiner never actually visited arcade because he always has to take of reiner at his trainings. at the end of the date, u feel like grumpy because bertholdt won every single game u two played. but ur mood comes quickly back when he returns with a whole lego spaceship set he won for u. he looks nervous and scared that u won't like it, but u surprise him with the biggest hug. u mumble thank u's into his t-shirt and squeeze your arms tighter. he doesn't know what to do at first, but then u suddenly feel three head pats on top of your head. even tho u hate spaceships, u know u have to make this boy yours.

The image of Reiner walking aimlessly around the grocery store with a ginormous box of freezes is sending me akjhsfkljsdhf
┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓
It was the third day of the predicted heat wave, and you weren’t sure you’d be able to bear it for much longer. It didn’t matter how cold you cranked the air conditioning in the apartment you shared with Bertholdt and Reiner, it still felt like it was at least a hundred degrees inside.
It wasn’t helping that Reiner was very vocal about his discomfort, and the man was practically drenched in sweat. You’d feel bad for him if he didn’t continue to try and hug both you and Bert, constantly, as you all were splayed out in various spots around the main living space of your apartment.
“Reinerrrr, get off me!”
He’d just come back from sticking his face in one of the box fans you’d set up around the living room, and managed to flop down on top of where you were splayed out across the couch.
“Aww, then where am I supposed to lay down? Bert’s taken up the whole countertop, and the chair’s too fuzzy and warm,” he mumbles into the crook of your neck as he gestures to the armchair, covered in a mildly fuzzy fabric.
“You can go in the corner.”
“What? Why?”
“It’s cooler. Only ninety degrees.”
Bertholdt throws a grape at you from his spot on the granite countertop, which hits you in the face. He’s capitalizing on the bag of fruit that Reiner had left out at lunch. The counter was arguably the coldest spot in the apartment, but he’d been hogging it since he came back from work.
“Bert!” You yelp.
Reiner had shuffled over to the corner of the living room. “Hey, uh, I don’t feel a difference over here. Are you sure it’s cooler?”
A grape hits him in the face as well. “Hey!”
“Dummy, she was making a joke. A very bad one.” Bert glares over at you as you burst out laughing, and Reiner groans as the realization hits him. “C’mon, I need to go grocery shopping. We ran out of tomato sauce, and I was gonna make pasta for dinner.”
You shriek when Reiner practically tackles you in retaliation. “Do we have to go with you?” He asks over your laughter.
“Well…the store is air conditioned. And maybe they’ll let you stick your head in one of the freezers if you promise not to sweat all over the food,” Bert reasons. You prepare yourself to defend him, remembering he doesn’t really like going shopping by himself.
But Reiner just shrugs, mumbling “Eh, sounds fair.” Without warning, he scoops you off the couch, throwing you onto his shoulder. “Let’s go, you.”
Wiggling your bare feet in front of his face, you whine, “Rei! I have to put shoes on, or else they won’t let me in the store!”
At your protests, he puts you down, but the prospect of sticking his head in a freezer has him swiftly grabbing his keys and braving the outdoor heat to start his car. As you slip your shoes on, you look up at Bert, who reaches for one of his baseball hats before squeezing you to him by the waist for a heartbeat.
“Ugh, at least you’re less sweaty than Reiner, the poor guy probably feels awful.” You murmur as he leans down to kiss the top of your head.
“Thank you for coming with me, you know I hate shopping alone.”
You reach up to press a hand to his cheek with a soft smile. “Hey, anytime.”
A moment later, you’re climbing in Reiner’s car, which still hasn’t cooled off completely. After some lighthearted bickering, Bertholdt climbs into the passenger seat. You have an agreement to lessen the severity of passenger seat envy between you three: whoever is in the passenger seat on the way to a place has to sit in the back seat on the way home. Sure, it hasn’t stopped all arguments about car seating arrangements, but Reiner threatened to make you both sit in the back after a particularly bad disagreement. Since he usually drives, you and Bert agreed to a truce.
Despite this, you shove your face into the space between the two front seats, closing your eyes and letting the cold air from the vents hit your face.
“Ahem.”
You blink your eyes open to Reiner staring at you, one eyebrow raised.
“Whaat?”
“You know the rules.” He murmurs, pressing his forehead against yours. By the “rules”, he means everyone has to be seated properly, with their seatbelt on, before the car moves anywhere. He’s oddly particular about that, but you don’t blame him for wanting to be safe. He loves you both, he doesn’t want to see either of you hurt.
“Mmm,” was all of the response he got from you. But, he also got your hand pressing into his cheek, pulling him in for a kiss. He sinks into your mouth for a moment before you pull away, sliding back into your seat and clicking the belt in place.
Reiner exchanges a soft glance with Bert before shifting the car into gear; your affection wasn’t something that either of them could get enough of.
The drive to the store was arguably less agonizing, since the car’s air conditioning was efficient, and you almost didn’t want to make the walk into the store. You didn’t regret a thing the minute you were inside though, the cool air of the grocery store hitting your face and melting all of your thoughts about the weather.
Reiner nearly falls to the floor when the cold air hits him, ever the dramatic guy. “Oh man, that is good.”
Laughing at his reaction, you pat him on the shoulder, and Bert ruffles his hair before grabbing a shopping cart. The two of you stand there for a moment, Bert off to the side checking his list to refresh his mind, until you noticed the other people entering the store were shooting looks at you and Reiner; you were standing in the middle of the entrance.
Bert raises an eyebrow at the two of you, and Reiner runs a hand through his hair sheepishly before announcing “Well, I’m gonna go stick my head in one of the freezers,” and marches off in the direction of the frozen food aisle.
You smile at Bert before slipping your hand in his for a moment, leaning against his arm and peering at his shopping list. “Alright Bert, let’s do this.”
He smiles down at you as you pull off of him, and the two of you begin to make your way through the aisles, grabbing everything on his list and then a couple things that weren’t, a product of food shopping while hungry.
After a short while, you and Bert stand in front of the last aisle of the store idly. You’d completely lost Reiner, despite your efforts to walk through the entire store twice. You were just bringing your phone up to your ear for the third time when the blond walks up to you, struggling with the largest box of freezes you’ve ever seen.
“R-Reiner? What are you doing? We’ve looked everywhere for you!” Bert’s face twists with concern as the man sets the box on the ground in front of the two of you.
Reiner grins at you both. “Whaat? They’re ice pops!” His expression falters. “ …Oh, that’s my phone ringing, isn’t it?” His eyes fall on you, still holding the phone up to your ear for dramatic effect, as he reaches for the phone in his pocket.
“You mean…popsicles?” Bert teases, giggling.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, they’re freezes.” You look at both of the men incredulously, and Reiner laughs, rolling his eyes.
“Well, whatever they are, they’re yummy, and cold.”
“They’re popsicles,” Bert whispers.
You smirk at him. “Freezes.”
Bert scoffs in response, but doesn’t continue, so you resolve that you won that debate. “There’s five hundred of them in that box, Rei. We can’t fit all of them in the freezer.”
“Bert, I’ll bet you a hundred bucks that he’ll eat them all before dinner. I say, as long as he can carry it back to the car, we can get them.”
“Y/n, this is not the first time we’ve been through this, I am not placing bets on Reiner’s actions again.”
As he talks, Reiner walks up to Bert, wrapping his arms around the man’s torso, and giving him his best attempt at puppy eyes.
“That’s because I always win.” You grin at Bert, who’s trying very hard to not be persuaded by just how sad Reiner looks.
You move close to Reiner and press your hands to his cheeks, intensifying his expression. “Awww, Bert, c’mon, you’re gonna make Reiner upset, just look at the poor guy.”
Bertholdt wraps his arms around his partners in defeat. “Alright, alright, you win. C’mon, let’s get home before our only option for dinner becomes…freezes.”
“Yes!” You and Reiner cheer, and he somehow manages to pick up the box of freezes.
The three of you manage to make it home with only mild looks of concern from the cashier, and without dropping the very large box. But not even thirty minutes later, you all stood in front of your completely packed freezer, having only unloaded half of the box of freezes.
Bert walks up behind Reiner, resting his chin on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “Reiner, I told you, it’s not gonna fit.”
“Hmm, we didn’t eat enough on the way home, then.” You grumble playfully.
“Wait! I have an idea.” Reiner wraps an arm around Bert, giving him a small squeeze before hurrying off to his room.
Before you and Bertholdt can exchange confused glances for too long, he’s back with the cooler you bring on beach trips.
“We’ll just put all the ice packs we’ve got in here, and then the rest of the freezes will stay cold!” He beams.
“That sounds like a solid plan to me.” You shrug, looking up at Bert for any sign of disapproval from him, but you don’t find any.
“Alright, whatever works, but I’m gonna start on dinner.” He wraps an arm around Reiner, pulling him closer to plant a kiss on his cheek. “Try and save the freezes for afterwards,” he murmurs. Reiner tilts his face towards him in response with a soft smile, lips pressing into his, before turning back to loading the cooler with more freezes.
“Hey, Reiner, we should put the cooler in the living room, so we can just sit on the couch and eat the ones in here first.” You look up at your boyfriend, who grins.
“Aw, hell yeah, that’s a great idea!” He begins dragging the cooler into the other room as you fold the box the freezes came in, putting it in the recycling bin.
“Hey Bert, need any help with dinner, or should I make sure Reiner doesn’t eat all the freezes?” You murmur to him, raising an eyebrow as he slowly takes a bite of one of them that he’d grabbed out of the freezer.
“I’m all good here, but why don’t you set up to watch a movie or something where we’re not moving around and sweating so much, we can start it during dinner if you’d like.”
You nod, “I like that idea, I’ll get Reiner to help.”
Pacing over to the living room, you find Reiner moving around couch cushions and pillows.
“Reiner, what are you doing?”
“Making a blanket fort to hide from the heat, have you seen those things where you stick the fan under the sheets on a bed and the air makes a little tent?”
“Um, I think so?”
“Yeah, we’re gonna do it but bigger.” He tosses a pillow at you, a little fast, and it hits you in the face before you sputter and catch it.
“Ack—hey!” You readjust after receiving a pillow to the face. “Okay, tell me your plan.”
Twenty minutes and fifteen and a half freezes later, you and Reiner had draped an extra set of bedsheets over the major furniture in your living room, covering the floor with blankets and pillows. You’d informed Reiner of Bert’s plan to watch a movie, so you made sure the sheets weren’t obscuring your vision of the TV. By the time Bert walked in with dinner, you were sprawled across Reiner’s chest, the two of you laying on the floor of the living room on a pile of pillows. You were in the direct line of three different fans, the cool air blowing wisps of your hair every which way.
“Are you guys okay? Dinner’s done.”
Reiner raises his head to smile at him. “Yeah, we’re chilling.”
You punch him lightly for the joke, and he laughs as Bert rolls his eyes. Hunger gets the better of you, so you climb off Reiner, and finally the three of you squeeze together under the blanket fort as you settle down to watch the movie.
About halfway through the movie, you doze off, curled in between Bertholdt and Reiner. Your head rests against Reiner’s chest, his arm around your shoulders as you all lean against the base of the couch, while one of your legs is hooked over Bert’s. Reiner’s hand that’s around your shoulders finds its way into Bert’s hair, and before Bert dozes off Reiner nudges him to lay down, managing to only wake you halfway as he pulls you further onto his chest. The three of you curl against each other, sinking into the pillows and blankets littering the floor of your living room.
It’s cool enough in the room now that the warmth of each other is welcome. Bert’s hand finds its way just under the hem of Reiner’s shirt as he drapes his arm across both of you. Just before he falls asleep, Reiner manages to press a goodnight kiss to both yours and Bert’s foreheads, something that had become a habit since you’d first started dating. You knew you’d wake up to another day of unbearable summer heat, but for now you’d all enjoy the comfort of the people you love.
reiner: oh my can i just say waking up next to him would be the single best experience in the world? you’ll wake up to the warm feeling of his enveloped hug, slight stubble affectionately rubbing into your nape. his morning voice is really nice and gruffy too, whispering loving nothings and mornings into your ear. he’ll prop himself on an elbow to fondly gaze down at you, silently worshipping the one who stole his heart. he will definitely give you thousands of kisses too. and an extra one for good measure.
bertholdt: you’re usually the one who wakes up first, only to find bert in a completely insane position that he definitely did not sleep in at first. one time you found him flipped over, face by your feet and you almost kicked him in shock. you’ll gently shake him awake, nugding him quite harshly because boy justs sleeps so well <3 he’ll jolt awake, and, no matter how many times it happens, he’ll blush his head off in embarrassment.
annie: i headcanon annie to sleep very,, elegantly? like she doesn’t move much, and she’s quite quiet and a light sleeper at that. when you wake up, you’ll take notice of how absolutely ethereal she looks- it’s so early in the morning, how annie? you’ll brush some hair off her face to properly take a look at her. the sensations stir her up and she’ll peer those beautiful blue eyes at you. she’ll give you a loving smile that’s reserved just for you paired with a good morning kiss on the forehead.
zeke: oh zeke. he’ll usually be the first to wake up, peppering gentle kisses across your face to coax you up. his morning voice is also very very nice, it’s definitely something you would love to hear first thing in the morning. he’ll get up and ready while he tells you his plans for the day and asks you how you slept- he really loves to talk to you, since he’s a busy man. this is the precious time he has alone with you.
porco: this man sleeps like a fucking log, he won’t move and he’s just so hard to wake up. if he went to bed cuddling you, good luck waking him up. when you open your eyes, you’ll feel his comforting weight on you, hugging you tightly like a teddy bear. you can’t help but giggle when he does this, he’s just too cute. you have a secret though- the only way to wake him up, is to give his head tender pets and rubs. he begrudgingly told you it reminded him of his mother when he was a little boy. that’s a secret you’ll take to the grave. <3
pieck: baby girl is always sleeping so whether you guys are waking up from a full night’s rest or a quick nap, you’ll still find pieck clinging onto your waist when you wake up. she’s like a cat, when you give her head rubs, she’ll unconsiously snuggle into your body or shift around until she gets comfortable again. when she gets up, she’ll caress your face with both hands before planting a sweet kiss on your lips.
colt: (brb i love him) colt is a young man with many responsibilities on his plate, so you’ll typically find him being the first one to wake up. but when he does, he’ll spend a few moments to cuddle closer towards you. he likes to tuck his face in between your neck, it’s warm and nice. he’ll rub small circles with his thumb on your legs, stomach, arms, everywhere. when you wake up, he’ll immediately shoot up to say good morning, a goofy grin adorning his handsome face.
you decided to stay in during the violent thunderstorm. with your migraine your boyfriend has stepped up to care for his love!
bertl was a bit awkward with his affections, always feeling like he was hovering over you with hugs and cuddles but that was apart of his charm. his eyes shifting away from yours as he talked about date ideas, asking permission to hold your hand in public. it was always like he was not familiar with having a love by his side. cute. today you two were stuck inside. flashes lightning lighting up your apartment. since the rain started your power cut out.
the rain pounding on your window made your already bad headache worsen. you covered your eyes trying to ignore all the signs to take ten times the recommended amount of aspirin so it'd end. you laid star-fished across your's and bertholdt's bed while he was out. he finally came home from his grocery visit, quietly pushing your door closed but it still made you whine.
bertholdt took a look inside, sighing, then going to the kitchen. he was so concerned but asking what to do would make your situation worse. he put away the groceries he got, pulling out some mint herbal tea he picked up. abnormal for him to get something off the list, but he hoped this would help. he even got you a colorful mug. preparing the tea with as little noise as one could, he was so excited to give it to you. he grabbed a towel and covered it in the hot water. folding, and putting all this on a little tray for you.
entering the bedroom like a ghost it made you jump for a second when he tapped your shoulder. you sat up and gasped seeing the display your boyfriend brought. the bit of anger from being woken washed away and you replaced your pillow with the hot towel, sipping your hot tea that made you feel so alive. as alive as you could, that is.
he still stood, watching more than talking and just smiled when you were. "thank you so much, bertholdt!" through your smile. you were so grateful. you got up, embracing bertholdt and guiding him to sit with you. "you're welcome.." he replied, laying his head on your shoulder. you reached over to pet his head, patting his cheek. you rested your head on bertholdt's.
