#PrideBookstagram Day 8: Fresh Romance Vol. 1⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ This collection of short comics isn’t strictly queer romance but 2 out of its 5 stories feature non-het relationships which I’m so glad about⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ In the Ruby Equation, Ruby is sort of a space-age cupid and I loved that she was indiscriminate in ~causing meetcutes at the cafe she’s working on. She sensed the attraction, put in some of her magic, and voilà! Cute blonde and bearded hottie meets each other. 💕⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In School Spirit, one of the main couple’s secret lesbian relationship drives the plot and is rightfully given an HFN. 😊 It also shows “cool” gay parents but huhu, they need a little bit of perspective, imo, to be ACTUAL cool parents in my book. OMG It’s sooo good! I love how the romance stakes weren’t really that high on the surface, but bec Kate Clayborn wrote it with a lot of depth and emotion, all the things that happened to Kit and Ben (as well as ALL the side characters) made so much sense! Their decisions and motivations were shaped by the circumstances in their lives, but also their great characterizations. Coffeeshop Window Shot FTW! 🎉 • I finally have a proper (not funny) bookish window shot from last weekend! This is obviously staged bec I will never be able to enjoy a book, even short a graphic novel, when I’m out with friends. Too many distractions and I’m fond of reading in the horizontal position, preferably with a comfy pillow or two. 😂 • I’m just trying to post something in lieu of my lack of reviews. Happy Book Birthday to this novella that I’ve been waiting for since April! 😊 I don’t usually preorder books on Kindle bec I’m always wary of Mt.
