In true #BenBloopers ™️ fashion, I made a mistake with the previous post! 🤦🏽♂️ I mentioned writing down the target wordcount for each week and month of the class' duration but in the photo it was the assignment submission deadlines! AND THEN I forgot to include photos of the wordcount target 🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣 So anyway, here it is, with stickers from, @kamoteph , @vinyliismph and @carlakdeguzman ! The "Consensual, Hot, Responsible" sticker is a direct reference from the #romanceclass textbook about writing sex scenes, (and OF COURSE I've already got the sex scenes outlined bec that's how I roll. 😏 LOL. Also can I take a moment to appreciate the holo rainbow this "Yass Henny" decal creates? ❤️ I love it so much! ❤️ I'll buy more of it when I'm no longer bankrupt. • The opposite page is my Assignment #1, Story Concept that I submitted last week. I'm so happy and proud of this bec honestly, the idea has been marinating in my head for over a year but the execution is a little lopsided. I've created maybe three outlines for this, and well, this 4-paragraph blurb has been the most workable iteration of that idea. I don't want to put it out for the whole world to see (bec I might jinx it, 😬) but the romanceclass community has seen it. I haven't read the comments to it bec I'm scared. 😅 Esp now that my Act Three outline is still in shambles. 😑 • So yeah. That's it. I'm just rambling and distracting myself with this litany of a caption. 😂 Gotta go back to writing. ✍🏻✍🏻✍🏻 *do you think the outline will work itself out if I sleep on it??? Maybe I'll dream of an amazing resolution? Fave Five: Queer Filipino MCs Don't Tell My Mother and You, Me. U.S. by Brigitte Bautista Another Word for Happy by Agay Llanera…
You don't get to choose who you fall in love with. You don't get to make a list of all the things you want and choose the best candidate from the list. It's not a job interview, and even then, you don't always get the best. No one's perfect. Not even perfect you. People just are, and you accept them, flaws and all. And love, it never happens the way you plan for it to happen.

“Gorgeous” a Filipino LGBTQ+ anthology romance set in New York [pan cisfem/masc NB]
New love in New York with a twist!
Two home-grown Filipinos fall in love after a chance meeting on a train to Little Manila in Queens, NY. They learn, over time spent enjoying the colorful culture of New York City’s streets, that they are, by all accounts, perfect for each other — before some unexpected baggage and a surprising history threatens to tear them apart.
Some things just don’t heal with time alone, but sometimes it’s only when it hurts that you know it’s worth trying for.
A short story I did for the Start Here #romanceclass anthology! It centres on two characters, the unnamed main character (MC) and Jays, a masculine non-binary character, and their meeting in New York City.
MC finds comfort in the familiar, but when Jays proves to be just a bit too familiar for her tastes, she has to figure out whether she’s going to let past hurts keep her from being happy.
Romance tropes:
Identity Porn (my favourite!) as a result of transitioning
Meet Cute
The one that got away (brief)
New York City (it’s totally a trope by now)
You can get the anthology on pre-order here along with some other awesome LGBTQ+ romance stories ;)
