Kenzie and James’ romantic wedding in Sintra was a beautiful celebration of love, set against the backdrop of the stunning Monserrate Palace
After over a month waiting for fray check to arrive (they ‘forgot’ about my order), I was finally able to finish this off. I hate doing button holes as it you stuff it up the whole piece is basically screwed, but thankfully my machine’s button holing function behaved!
Made with black wool with silver flecks, custom printed orange flying goose silk lining, orange top stitching, antique goose buttons, and 4 black 1 decorative orange button holes.
Modeled by my snuggly fiancée and our ring-bearer bird Māui.
Finished all the bunting! In total there is around 30ish metres of bunting (enough to span 6m between two trees twice and to edge 3 tables). Sewing all this used up a bit over 1300 metres of thread!
But my, it does look pretty festive!
THE INVITES
On the top are our formal invitation. Double fold cards can be quite costly so we print ours on a 8.25 inch by 5.5 inch art card, double-sided. Including a plain envelope, one card cost us a lil shy under RM1.50. When I was shopping around in IG looking for wedding invites, quotes that I get range from RM2.50 and above. So, my cheap-ness led to me designing our own. Also it removes the hassle of dealing with designers back and forth cos Lord knows I am difficult. I kept the grey marble and gold accents in the design. As you know these elements are cohesive-ly intact right from our engagement celebration designs as well.
Bottom left is our invites for our church ceremony guests. I want to keep it playful and funny (y’all know your girl Sher) so I put that photo of us laughing. I incorporated gold geometric accents along with the marble background.
Bottom right is one of our Save-The-Dates. (I designed another one that is more formal but I forgot where I save it. Darn). I really love this engagement photo of us with that bright red wall so this is a joy to edit.
Here’s the thing; you do not have to settle down for whatever package vendors shove to your face. You can do this on your own. I am not a designer, I just have the patience to watch countless of Youtube tutorials so I can come up with all these. Rely on the Internet people! It is the greatest resource and we are so lucky to have it in our generation’s lifetime!

Drawing the Veil
I’ve always been drawn to subtle gauzy veils in fashion; since I was 15 looking at pictures of Marlene Dietrich or the New Romantics of the 80’s, or the veils of the late Victorian’s perched hats. I love the air of mystery and soft focus beauty a veil or a veiled hat suddenly brings a woman. A little taste of other worldliness and beauty, for a special occasion or outfit. When it comes to bridal…
