Best Callback: The Time of My Life
This was an extremely close category, particularly because 6x22 Five Stars for Beezus had so many amazing callbacks. However, this one that referred all the way back to the pilot was the winner with 40% of the vote. This callback was especially meaningful because it seemed like the writers recognized that, at least in Jess’ mind, Nick was the one who initiated rescuing Jess at the restaurant and singing to her, more so than Schmidt and Coach did. It was always Nick. Only two votes behind in second place for this category was an important Nick/Jess moment happening in the elevator. (GIF credit: x)
