alixvause SOME GIRLS IS BACK THE DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
there needs to be more Gilmore Girls posts on my dash.
This has probably been said but I think that Girls tv show is one of the best programmes anyone can watch
Secondly, Jessa, one of Hannah's friends, is casted as the typical bohemian girl with flowing blonde hair and has been to so many different places and and shagged so many different people. YET AGAIN, SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND IS NOT A BAG OF BONES. She's also not slut shamed throughout the programmes for having many relationships with different people. My favourite moment throughout the first series was something so small but it has ingrained on my memory so much. It was the small gesture of Jessa walking to Marni and Hannah's apartment and having to lie on the couch to stop her thighs from burning from skirt rash. It's something we've all experienced but the simple fact of acknowledging it make me smile a little. The directors are not emphasising that the characters are overweight, they are emphasising the effects of not conforming: which are so mundane that it really begs the question would it really be worth it to change yourself for the media generated norm?
Thirdly, one of the main character masturbates. Not the fact that I'm a perv, but it's a brilliant side to the character. The scene is not sexualised in any shape or form, and it's literally portrayed in the way that it would have gone. She does not do it in front of a guy, no one walks in on her doing it ensuing an unnecessary humour point, and neither does it make her look desperate and needy. She only does it for the sole purpose that she needs it for: to relieve stress. Seeing it being shown so casually and so realistically made me think twice about my own attitudes towards female masturbation. I was shocked at the scene, but in the same episode I saw a man masturbating and I wasn't phased at all. We've been told by so many outlets that women masturbating is pathetic and disgusting, whereas male masturbation is completely normal and not doing it is even worse. Why are men told to give in to their 'natural urges' whereas women are suggested not to?
I say a fucking well done and good job to the director and writers for making such a realistic and view changing programme.
Sorry guys :) I just have a lot to say on this stuff. Sorry if it was really boring, I just had to get it out there xx
Guilver: I won't be mad if you're honest with me....
