hello. i'm writing a poly, same sex relationship consisting of an alpha, beta, and omega. my headcanon is that betas can have both heats and ruts depending on the circumstances, but how would it work when the beta is with both an alpha and omega? and is there a beta equivalent to a heat or rut?

I have not come across any Beta specific heats/ruts information. I know here on my blog I entertained the idea of Betas being able to have either a heat or a rut, depending on their partner. It just wouldn’t be as intense as an Alpha’s or Omega’s.
What if (this is for a relationship containing one of all dynamics):
The beta is sandwiched between the alpha and omega, thus able to please the omega with their beta-rut and able to produce beta-heat slick for their alpha.
They probably get very creative with positioning.
Depending how long the omega or alpha’s relief lasts (like when an omega is knotted and they feel calm for a small period of time), the beta can focus on the other while there is some down time.
It’d also be simpler when only one of them is going into rut/heat. This really depends on how often your characters go into heat/rut a year. It varies for every AU.
I do not have a beta specific term for their heats and ruts. I may just stick with “beta-heat” or “beta-rut”.
