Summary: When their boyfriend overworks himself Claire and Jim take it upon themselves to make sure Douxie gets the rest he needs.

Claire leaned on her boyfriend's shoulder as she and Jim waited for Douxie to arrive for the first bell. They were sitting in their usual bench, just out of the way for them to talk about otherworldly things. Somehow though, Jim ended up getting trapped in a conversation with Uhl. "He's not coming is he?" Claire asked when their over-conversational spanish teacher finally left them alone. Jim sighed and checked his phone,

"He hasn't texted me yet. How about you?" Jim said, threading their fingers together. Claire shook her head as she scrolled through her text threads.

"Not even a goodnight," she responded before shutting off her phone. The shrill sound of the first period bell rang out through the school grounds. Jim sighed as he shouldered both of their backpacks,

"We can stop by his apartment on the way home. Knowing Douxie he probably got caught up in some new project or something." Claire nodded, though concern was still evident on her face. Jim pressed a soft kiss against her cheek. "Hey, he's going to be fine," the Trollhunter assured her. They narrowly missed their teacher as they slid into their seats at the back of the classroom just as the lesson of the day started.

"If something happened Archie would have told us right?" Claire asked in a hushed whisper. Jim nodded then flipped open his textbook. The two of them tried to get through the day as fast as possible, trying to ignore the empty space between them.

Claire, Douxie, and Jim only had ome class period together, so they would often regroup at lunch. Toby, Steve, and Eli usually sat with them too, but the three Creeplsayerz seemed to be doing their own thing lately, leaving Claire and Jim the table to themselves. "Have you heard anything from him?" Jim asked Claire after a quick soft kiss. Shaking her head Claire said,

"Nothing. I've been checking all day. Maybe we should miss the second half of school and go see him." Jim nodded,

"I agree. He usually at least sends us proof of life by now." When they finished eating their lunches the two of them walked around to the back of the school building and Calire summoned a portal to Douxie's apartment.

Claire landed on top of Jim with an oof then she quickly stood up, gripping her staff. "Jim what is all this?" Claire asked as they ventured a little bit further into Douxie's two-room apartment. Staying close together the two checked the living room first. 

"Douxie, you here?" Jim called out, hoping for a response. They determined the was clear, save for a three-day old pizza and the chaotic workspace of a master wizard. Turning the corner into the bedroom Claire gasped. The small space was cluttered with half opened books hanging off of the dresser, and inventions strewn all over the floor. Archie was sleeping in the bookshelf, tail waving in front of the books. 

"Careful where you step," Claire warned, narrowly dodging what looked like a miniature mace. As she lightly walked to the bed she could see that a Douxie-sized lump of blankets laid in the center. Jim passed Archie in the bookshelf and walked around to the side of the bed opposite of Claire. Seeing Douxie's phone lying unplugged Calire tried to turn it on, only to be notified of it's dead battery. Jim let out a small chuckle,

"Well that explains that…" After plugging Douxie's phone in for him Claire slowly pulled back the covers and revealed their boyfriend sleeping peacefully, curled into himself.

"I hate it when he gets like this," Claire admitted as she slid under the covers next to Douxie. She took a look at some of the notebooks strewn around Douxie. Jim nodded as he did the same,

"I love him but we need to show him how to better take care of himself…" Jim trailed off, letting Douxie's light snores fill the silence of the room. Douxie must have felt the bed shift when Jim climbed into it because as soon as Jim got settled Douxie twisted and proceeded to absorb the Trollhunter with his limbs. Claire giggled then snapped a picture with her phone. Jim tried to snatch the device away, but was locked in place. "You better not post that anywhere!" Jim warned her teasingly. Dangling her phone just out of his reach she justifies her actions,

"I need blackmail material!" Claire curled herself around Douxie, wrapping her arms around both of her boyfriends. Jim fell asleep first as Claire found herself matching her breath to Douxie and Jim's. Feeling eyes grow heavy, Claire let the soft breathing of her boyfriends pull her to sleep.

 This child knows who to ask when they want something.

None of them want to be the “bad guy” punishing their small child. 

This child picking up Omega habits, like nest building . While they learn Beta skills such as cooking. And, perhaps, tend to be a loud child, following their Alpha parent’s example. 

The child growing up with a slightly better understanding of other dynamics since, they do live with one from each. 

Each parent wanting their own time with the child. Always trying to teach them different things and give advice, which sometimes contradicts with what the others say.
