You know what? I'm gonna say it. I think it's impossible to make a sitcom that doesn't have at least one neurodivergent character, dare I say even at least two
New Girl? Everyone in that loft is neurodivergent
The Mindy Project? The only one(s) I can see in the main office (in season one, I only just finished the last episode) as neurotypical are Jeremy and Shauna or whatever the brunette receptionist's name was
Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Amy, Holt, and Jake are definitives of the main cast, but I can be easily convinced of everyone else lmao
trying to think of what other sitcoms I like...
Oh, The Office (US). Lots going on in there
Also the Australian Office, the Dwight character. I love her
Oh my god how could I forget Friends. Insane of me
Big Bang Theory, and by extension, Young Sheldon
Modern Family, Parks and Rec, Community, Always Sunny, Superstore I COULD GO ON, BUT I SHOULD STOP
The point is: sitcoms are funny because the characters are often pushed to the "extremes" (for lack of a better word) of human behaviour. At least, typical human behaviour. And that will pretty much always lead to a neurodivergent character, I swear to god
Edited because I forgot a very vital part of the sentence lmao
