I've noticed that Beyond Hallyu's articles have really gone down the tube. They used to be nearly scholarly in tone but now they're verging on Allkpop-level writing. Either they added someone new that doesn't really fit with their original aims, or the same writers are sacrificing good writing in order to be 'edgy'...which is like, why. You're never going to get enough readership to be a clickbait kind of site, so why write clickbait-sounding articles...just means I have to look elsewhere for serious articles about hallyu.
one of their writers took an opportunity to look critically at the Tough Cookie controversy and decided instead to just load up their article with phrases like "touchy social justice warrior with no sense of humour" and "online rage fest" -_-
