I keep on seeing this one post floating around talking about how becoming a radfem made them miserable and I wanna be nice but... take the L ladies. Life's so much better when I can put a name to misogyny. Or cutting ties with porn supporting male friends. I'm more will I need to call out things that make me uncomfortable, I'm actually excersising(mostly because the prospect of endometriosis has put the fear of god into me), I'm generally more extroverted... I'd need a control group to prove my theory but being able to call out misogyny just makes everything in life better. The only thing I've lost from being outspokenely a radical feminist is one or two male friends and like... is that even a great lost? Feeling worse just seems like a skill issue here.

Its always sobering how little the threat to women moves or mobilises the American left. Intellectually i know left movements do not care about women unless womens groups or leftist feminist harass them into having morals and good politics. They kept a dead woman's body alive long enough to grow a baby who they cut out so premature, there is no telling what the quality of life will be, forced the family to pay to keep her alive and beyond women, it didnt seem to spark anything. The gov can keep your rotting body alive as a woman to grow a foetus and the American left wont be moved. They're still mad about the fucking pussy hats

My first rule of feminism is to simply not believe men and their institutions. I don't believe men's stories about the creation of the universe, their religions are bullshit, what the fuck do men know about the creation of life. I don't believe men when they tell me they are women, what the fuck do men know about womanhood. Internalizing this disbelief of men is one of the most important things I have ever done.

And it has to be disbelief. If you try to instill hatred and disgust in yourself, you are setting yourself up for failure, because men are people. And people are complex and varied. Men aren't some evil unknowable creature, they are capable of kindness and competency, and that will disprove whatever foundation you had for your hatred. That's why feminism can't just be founded on manhating. Disbelief keeps you questioning, keeps you sharp. And it makes you realize how little men truly know.

Does anyone have the link to that post explaining how the term "assigned at birth" was originally coined and used by and for intersex people (or people with DSD) before it was completely appropriated by the trans lobby, to the point that the people it was originally about have largely been forgotten?

Here is a position that, for some reason, really triggers some people (usually men).

It goes like this:

Women being trafficked and forced into prostitution is an atrocity and should be stopped - at this point everyone is still in agreement.

What happens to them is rape - everyone pretty much agrees with this still.

And then: If there are EXTREMELY OBVIOUS warning signs that the prostitute in question is likely a victim of trafficking*, every single john who had sex with her anyway should be prosecuted for rape.

So many people froth at the mouth at the mere suggestion. They get furious if you suggest that this should be the law. But I think nothing could be more reasonable. Trafficking and forced prostitution flourishes because "normal" johns do not care if the prostitute they are paying is there voluntarily. They do not have to care (unless, maybe, if she is underage). Nothing will happen to him.

I say: Make johns deathly afraid of a prostitute possibly being trafficked. I want it to ruin lives to rape a woman who is clearly being forced to prostitute herself.

But no, apparently that's a horrible and hateful stance to have.

*and I am talking about basic, very obvious things like: cannot name the city she is in (yes, when German police broke up one of the repulsive "mega brothels", they said that many of the young women did not know the city they were in), cannot communicate with you in a shared language, CRIES, is or has recently been injured in some way

Why is this tagged “transandrophobia”? This is misogyny. Misogyny suffered equally by women and trans men. The governments committing these atrocities aren’t doing it out of hatred for trans men, they’re doing it out of hatred for the female sex. Misogyny. Femicide. There’s no need to try to invent new terms to discuss oppression that already has a name that allows it to be discussed clearly in a way that explicitly names the victims: female people.

sometimes I think my fellow young women on tumble dot com are becoming more sane and open to entertaining feminist theory based on material analysis seriously but then I encounter something as unhinged as to seem farcical as the OP's post and realize that no, we're still not out of this mess yet
