I was just enjoying a movie marathon of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame and the first news I see after finishing them is the sad news of the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Man seriously fuck 2020.
My son’s father’s second marriage appears to be coming to an end and my son is caught in the crossfires

You know what? America WAS great. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. But I had finally started to see an America that made sense to each and every individual who called it home, at least in some way, shape, or form. It was evolving; adapting. That is what makes us great. Now, I can say with great confidence that it will not be so great. Some people claimed (and still do) that it was time to make America great again. Some joked, and washed their hands of the vitriol that coated their entire being. "It couldn't happen to me." And that's not untrue. But it can happen to a myriad of people who were finally starting to see how great America could be, despite its apparent and jagged flaws. Yet we allowed spiteful rhetoric to grab hold of misguided and misunderstood mindsets that were broken way before the notion took hold that America was no longer great. And is that anyone's fault? That's hard to say. So while some revel in the "greatness" yet to come, I'll mourn the loss of the greatness we had.
