What better way to end my current #beyond531 cycle than to hit a 375lb #deadlift for the first time in a year early this morning! But even more important than that, telling my hand doctor about this tonight was part of his deciding factor to sign off on me, ending nine months of treatment for a torn cartilage in my right wrist from a really stupid accident last December. Decided to follow the advice of @untamedstrength and try benching with my feet flat as opposed to just being on the balls of my feet. I think it worked, although I clearly need to work on the grip width. Either way today was way better than yesterday's shit show if a workout. So here's 160 for a single. Also included is my last set of #dumbbellfarmercarries with 42.5lbs for a lap. Trying to build up stamina so I can hit as many laps as I can with this weight. Day 2 of my current #beyond531 cycle and today I added in the #overheadplatecarry. Put a 45lb over your head, keep the #scapula retracted, ass in, #core tight, arms straight the entire time. This shit seemed easy until I kept going. It's hard. So again, if it's hard, do it (goddamn my head's in the gutter!). This is another great #conditioning move as well. If you're in a situation where your body needs time to acclimate to certain changes such as this, let it happen. Listen to your body. If you need to rest a little longer, go ahead and do so. Near the end of week 2 of my #beyond531 cycle do over. If you're restarting training after even a short layoff AND you've dropped weight, it's okay to take slightly longer rest periods as you're body acclimates to the changes, especially with a big move like the #deadlift. Don't rush shit. That's what betas do. Take your time, don't be a #beta. No flexing pics here, didn't want to make anyone jealous. First week of my #beyond531 cycle redeux is in the books! With performing this particular number at a lighter #bodyweight, it's possible to exhaust all options in terms of #mindmuscleconnection. So when in doubt, remember to push through your wrists. That should help matters. If not you might want to increase the #intensity by 10% in order for your body to properly acclimate to the changes. The name of the game here is #injuryprevention. First week of #beyond531 cycle is officially in the books! When a weight seems a heavier than it'd normally be, and all else fails, remember to push through your wrists. The difference here being I'm now pressing 105x3 in a lighter #bodyweight than I was just a month ago, now weighing in at 173lbs. So I was forced to stop training after Easter Sunday, and barely halfway through my current #beyond531 cycle, as the most painful two weeks of my life would start. I'm not posting this as some cry for help, I'll be fine. But I want you to know that no matter what life throws at you, or what scary decisions you might make, all you need to do is make sure you NEVER second guess yourself, and you get right back up.
