So anon who asked us about the Doctor throwing Ian and Barbara off the ship in the Transit of Venus:

We had a listen earlier and firstly the Doctor throwing them off the ship seemed quite realistic (although a little sad in some ways because he didn't really see if they'd be ok). It was the ending of the audio that was a bit abrupt and perhaps the bit you didn't like so much with the continuity.

In the beginning of the audio we actually quite liked that the Doctor was angry and pushed them off the ship, it does flow well from the Sensorites as well because he's still irked from his argument with Susan. So this scene wasn't really going against anything. We always thought at this point in the audio, how the hell can he throw them off the ship again later when they get out of this mess?

At the end in the resolution, we think they had to do their best to think of a reason why the Doctor would then be annoyed with Ian despite helping each other on board the Endeavor. Think they did really well to keep it in the story so that you still get the same lead on to the Reign of Terror, so that's good, but it does sort of come out of the blue and blaming Ian and Barbara for the TARDIS being filled with water seems a bit daft after all they've been through (especially as Ian had nothing to do with it).

But can't really see what else they could have done, so we're going with the tongue in cheek approach, or just imagining that the Doctor was so ticked off with being on a boat for 3 months that he still believed that Ian and Barbara needed to go home because they reminded him of certain aspects of travelling that he didn't enjoy. Perhaps it's not that unrealistic that he could threaten them twice, maybe he'd feel embarrassed not carrying out his plans, he doesn't like his opinions challenged. We suppose at least it's pretty much still in character, the Doctor is a sneaky cranky bastard who never forgets if you insulted him lol.

You may have other thoughts. Does it seem plausible to you? Suppose it's hard with audio because DW doesn't really have canon (with all the vast medias) so technically it's a matter of opinion and taste. :)
