Rebuilding with Felix wasn’t easy.

It wasn’t a fairytale fix or a grand gesture that suddenly made everything better, it was quiet, steady effort. He showed up, always, like he was afraid you might disappear if he let a single second slip. He listened, really listened, with wide eyes and a soft heart, never interrupting, never pushing. You caught him looking at you sometimes, like he couldn’t believe he was lucky enough to be in your orbit again.

The late-night texts returned, timid at first. A song that reminded him of you. A meme he knew you’d laugh at. A simple “Did you eat today?” that made your chest tighten in a way you hadn’t felt in weeks. And he never tried to explain away what he did—he just kept showing you that he was sorry. That he wanted to be better. For you. He brought you matcha when you looked tired. He remembered the way you always highlight in pink first. He waited. Never reaching for your hand, unless you reached for his first.

And maybe you still hurt. Maybe some nights you wondered if you were foolish for giving him another chance. But slowly—bit by bit—you started to believe him. Believe that people can make mistakes and still mean it when they say they want to change. Believe that love isn’t always easy, but that it’s worth rebuilding when someone treats your heart like it’s something sacred.

And Felix? He held you like he finally understood what it meant to be loved. And he wasn’t going to take that for granted again.
