a very lengthy and long rant about bfdia 23 being in theaters because it just bugs me the wrong way dont read below if u dont want neg im just being critical about this, no hate to jnj though! im just...bothered by this.

i feel like jnj needs to cool it with screening releases bc i can understand why tpot 20 has it because they hinted at it being something big, esp since its algebraliens backstory n all and they hinted at it since the meetups, bfdia 23 on the other hand, is just there. i think it felt more of a once in a lifetime experience for tpot 20 but i think now bfdia 23 getting a theater release is a bit of an overkill for jnj, especially it being on a monday of all things.

im fully aware, but you dont know the last time we even got a normal episode release was may (bfdia 20, not counting 21 as it was for in time for meetups)

i just feel like they might be a little too trigger-happy making back to back episodes screenings, it felt more reasonable if its because of meetups, and tpot 20 i thought being in cinemas is a one and done thing. if its just to balance out both seasons getting a theater release, this just isnt it. it takes away the hype of it being "the biggest episode yet". because wasnt tpot 20 also that? its just more and more spoilers to avoid and i know people may not be able to afford tickets for this screening as tickets on average are absurdly $27 USD per ticket. (i got tickets for me and my gf and had to fork over $52 for both, its not fun i tell you) and you know spoilers will be a bitch even though it releases the next day, it doesnt matter how long you gotta wait, theres always gonna be someone who will ruin the fun just because they can flex that they could be able to go and most cant.

i completely understand they need the money and such to pay their animators and for food/rent/etc, but i feel like less is more. and i thought they were doing fine bc of merch or something, idk i dont work at jnj.

im not going to see bfdia 23 in theaters personally because i dont want to ask my dad to fork over another $52 just for me and my gf to see another bfdi ep in amc. i can wait, even though some apparently cannot. i dont care much for having to wait longer for an episode to release, is just this is what really bothers me.

maybe ill understand this is a year long celebration of bfdi being 15 years old, i dont know, nobody 100% knows, but i pray this will not happen again in 2026, just keep screenings for meetups only at this point.
