Intent (bhāva/Niyyah) in Spiritual Life

In 2026, with Neptune - the great dissolver - beginning its course in Aries for the next 14 years, we have to focus on one thing in our spiritual life: intent.

I use the english word as it is different than intention. it is the actual verb.

Bhāva is a vedic form of intent. it literally means state of being, feeling, attitude, inner disposition.

the inner emotional–mental orientation behind an action. without it, a machanically correct action is devoid of real, lasting success.

example: this blog was opened in summertime, and my intent is to share spiritual wisdom, through different systems, mainly with females as females tend to be more spiritual in nature and need more wisdom than ever. since my intent was correct, I reached 750 followers in 5 months without putting any mony into advertising.

in 2026 i want to reach more inner quietness and body-spirit oneness and that is why i started practicing yoga. mind you: i did train many years before in pilates, but that was not with this intent. so now, as i change my intent, i change the system of practice.

Niyyah means intention, conscious purpose, inward resolve in Arabic.

I could give charity eiher for praise or for the greater good of the world. I could fast to lose weight but that is a broken intent for spiritual purposes, so I would miss the spiritual purpose in doing so.

My 2026 intents:

Yoga, at least 3x times per week

daily prayer - not directed buy a specific religion.

minimizing buying to focus on my inner life, art, writing and services.
