Hi it's your friendly neighborhood librarian Vicky coming at you with a recommendation for a book that I just finished and can't stop screaming about.
It's called Red, White & Royal Blue and it's about the son of the first female president of the United States who enters into a fake friendship with his sworn enemy the Prince of England after they have a very public quarrel and need to do damage control.
Think forced public outings where they have to pretend to like each other. Think begrudging respect as they get to know each other. Think "oh shit I'm actually starting to like this guy." Think a wonderful slow-but-not-too-slow burn as they figure out their feelings. Think great drama NOT based on bad communication between them.
AND there's lots of diverse female and queer representation!
It reads like the best kind of fic that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy and root for them the whole way.
10/10 would recommend!
