When I was in fashion design school, there was a quote I used for my collection presentation: I was about to save the world, but something sparkly caught my eye... I think it rings even more than true for my life today. I am back in Bali. I find myself in complete balance here. Surrounded by lush tropical fauna, interacting with nature isn't an option here, it is just how it is. Bali is rich with beauty, culture & community. It is easy to interact, be inspired, design, connect, get involved, be healthy, love life, all the while surrounded by others who are doing the same. While I'm here I am working on making new colours for the collection, picking new fabrics for #bicyclereclaimed (which you'll be able to see @ the @knowshow in Vancouver in Jan) feeding stray dogs along the way, talking to strangers (my favourite) about their dogs, arranging #spayandneuter days with @balipetcrusaders , meeting up with all the other beautiful DOGGESSES here in Bali, even if it just for a split second, or in spirit bc they're all in their own corner of the world doing the same. I feel so entirely blessed to be living my life like this, giving back like this & taking a stand that every living creature is just as valuable as the next. Being the change that is needed. I thank you for being here with me through all of this.
