Agatha

The little amount of fanart for dark deception, is an actual crime! It’s such a good game and the story is so good. Agatha has always been my personal favorite, and I’m honestly surprised no one has done art based on superhorrorbro’s theory about Agatha being the daughter of Bierce’s maid. Seriously, why is there so little of this?! It’s honestly a mystery to me!

Also I might have to do more 1930s outfits, idk why they were so much fun to draw. 😅

So what do you think of the Three main characters Doug, Bierce, and Malak?

Honestly, Doug was just a nameless/faceless/voiceless protag that I assumed would remain so for the rest of the series. Then they changed that, and I have to say that it was a change for the better. Having Doug be, you know, an actual person, and a shitty one at that, makes the encounters with the monsters and nightmares and everything beyond and in between all the more entertaining with an actual human interaction beyond... well, whatever streamer is playing the game at the time. Can't wait to see what's next for him after this obviously bad guy fights against beings that are TRULY evil.

Bierce is an interesting mentor character with clear inspirations from characters like Elvira and Morticia Addams. Making it slowly reveal how she's an even worse person than Doug and being responsible for more than a handful of characters becoming what they are is a nice, slow, steady build-up to the climax, in which all that bad karma, mojo, juju, vibes, etc. all comes back to bite her in the ass... and then chew. Really excited to see where things go from where the story last left off.

Malak, unfortunately, is the weakest of the three. Narratively speaking, that is. As an antagonist, his motivations are just... I dunno, blah? He's the devil character, and he's got a voice actor who plays that role VERY well, but in terms of his character himself, he's just... the bad guy, and his dialogue is either him doing the old hat of "I'll get you, Bierce and your little dog, too~!" or him trying to sell to us, the player, that he's the lesser of the two evils of him and Bierce.

So... Yeah. That's my take on our protag, his mentor, and the main antagonist.
