6 Month Runiversary!

Today is exactly 6 months from my first treadmill run on February 8th, and as of this morning I've lost 20.4lbs and am finally back into the 130s!

I plateaued in the middle 140s for a few months since life has been hectic but I've not only maintained but lost weight, and I finally feel like I've figured out my healthy food intake to activity balance. And the best thing is that it isn't a diet, I've literally changed my entire lifestyle over 6 months so my weight loss has been slow but it's sustainable. Also, considering I'm 5 foot nothing, extra weight is both very visible on my body but also really affects the way I feel.

So most importantly, I feel so. Much. Better. My first run was slow and painful and for a long time I couldn't even run 5k. The first time I did I thought my heart was going to explode. And now I run 5k multiple times a week!

And my most recent 5k:

I'd ideally like to lose the last 10lbs by the end of next month for both my birthday and a friend's wedding so I can just focus on maintaining for the fall. I'll be working two jobs again for the semester while trying to finish school and I'll have basically no time for training.

Anyway, I'm going to eat pizza for dinner tonight before a concert!

Daily excerpt from today's writing, chapter 114 of Falling Falling Stars:

Tears came to Efnisien’s eyes again and he shook his head. ‘I don’t know how to do that. I keep feeling like I’m letting you down. Don’t you hate me for this? Aren’t you angry at me? I did something that was so awful to you.’

Arden stared at him for a long time, and then closed his eyes. He looked like he was in pain.

‘Ef,’ he said, his voice a little strained, ‘I don’t hate you, I’m not angry, and I did something awful to you. I am hurt at the moment, sure. But…baby, I…’

Arden shook his head, like he was lost for words.

‘Arden, maybe you feel so sorry for me that you can’t help it,’ Efnisien said. ‘You’ve tied yourself to someone who’s just weighing you down and stopping you from achieving all the things you want to achieve. And you’re so generous, and so compassionate, you just can’t help it. Do you ever think…that might be it?’
