I miss having the Big Thunder Ranch, and having a spot where you could stand and hear the Indian Village on the Rivers of America. It was so calm, and not a lot of people knew about it.

Big Thunder Ranch
Videos and propaganda under the cut!
With the debut of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame animated feature in 1996, Disneyland rebranded the "Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue" area to "Festival of Foods Barbecue," complete with iconography lifted from the film. This included multi-colored diamond patterns to reflect the festival art style around the 1400s. Trash cans along the path to the Festival of Foods area reflected this design approach, also featuring diamond patterns. // Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Frontierland, Festival of Foods Barbecue, 1996 [Source: Jason Schultz. The Science Of The Goat Trick The "Goat Trick" is the term given to the sensation of weightlessness given to the guest when they follow the goat with their body and their eyes. The effect works best in the cars at the back of the train, because of the whipping motion of the back. You essentially feel the sensation of weightlessness, because Lateral g-force is like what you feel on Goofy's Sky School and other "crazy mouse" type coasters. But when you turn your head toward the goat, your inner ear, which is where you feel how the g-force affects you, makes your body feel as if it is being pushed backwards rather than sideways, so your brain is confused on which way you are going, because your eyes see something, but you feel yourself moving in a different direction.
